Whatever.
Spurs should be up 3-0.
Spurs in 5.
Parker really got away with 2 bad travels.
Also, Spurs got a call on Carmelo for an offensive foul when Duncan didn't take the charge at all.
That's all I can remember, but there was generousity shown.
Nothing like what Dallas got vs. the Warriors, but I'll take it.
By the way, people complain about Manu flopping - which he does, but tough guy Allen Iverson looks like he got shot by a gun any time anybody comes near touching him.
Whatever.
Spurs should be up 3-0.
Spurs in 5.
Didn't see the game so can't say one way or the other.
But
30 FT to 15 indicates something else....
Maybe I should have paid more attention to the game.
I don't know. I saw quite a few calls that the refs missed in favor of the Nuggets.
I think I remember one of Parker's alleged travels that you are referring to. On the replay, it wasn't a travel. Walton said it was just Hakeem-like footwork.
Looks like I dropped the ball on this one.
that one call where the reff said the ball went off of manu when it actually went off jr smith's foot was the biggest blown call of the game
George Karl got called for a techinal even Pop and Stern was like WTF!?
i dont give a damn, they got way more freethrows, and we got the win. thats all that counts
2 off the top of my head...the one where the ball went off of Smith, not Manu, Denver caught a break on that one & what should have been an offensive foul on AI when he went up, threw his arm into Bowen, & still made the shot.
You didn't watch the game yet can argue with someone who did? That doesn't sound like the reasonable, rational clown jockey I know.
Duncan was clearly moving on the Anthony charge in the 4th.
And the Smith flagrant on Ginobili? Bull .
When did Duncan become such a flopper? I've never seen a 6ft 10 power forward/center take 2 charges in a game. While it was quite funny to see, I didn't agree with Bill Walton calling him out for it.
riiighhtt..he hacked the out of Manu & didn't even get the ball..good call on the flagrant.
sarchasm
[/sarcasm]
Duncan clearly flopped early trying to take a charge from Nene. But he was on the money stepping out to beat Anthony to the spot and draw the charge in the 4th quarter. Huge, huge, huge play -- and it was called correctly.
It's among the many things that makes Tim Duncan so much better than just a dominant offensive player.
lol..my bad FWD
I remember denver getting away with a goaltend I think in the first half... a denver player grabbed the rim.... I dont think parkers shot had any chance of going in but still... cant grab the rim.
It's funny how Walton praises him as the best defender ever in one breath and in the next breath calls him out for taking a charge instead of blocking the shot. Walton is a clown!
Should have been a bit more clear about my effort to stay with Kris' original tone.
It's all good, Big P.
I actually watched a game one night when Walton called Corey Maggette one of the 5 best defenders in the history of the NBA. I take nothing that Walton says seriously.
Duncan made the right play in taking the charge on Anthony and not challenging the shot. Had he challenged the shot, Carmelo ends up on the line. By taking the charge, Duncan helped his team win. Recognizing and effectuating that distinction is precisely what makes Duncan so great.
The Nuggets didn't help themselves by missing so many free throws....
For an NBA game it was a well called. We can only hope for more consistant games in the playoffs.
That charge on duncan was a horrible call. I'll take it though.
