Who is projected to be a big talent in the next draft?

I hope the Cleveland Browns lose in the AFC Championship to the Colts just to give the Cowboys a pick in the low 20s.

We'll have to wait a year longer than I wanted to replace Julius Jones... but I think Darren McFadden will look great in Blue and Silver...

Dammit.....I hate when I agree with Scott!

Scott...what do you see Dallas doing today? I know they have 7 picks. I would like to see a corner get taken, personally.

I hated their second day. They had a chance to bring in some players who might contribute, but passed on them to draft guys for the future. I really cant believe they passed on Mason Crosby and drafted some other kicker that Ive never even heard of

I liked the pick of Doug Free, the others... eh. I would have liked to see us use our first 4th rounder on DT Soliai from Utah, but instead we picked some project WR convert. Bleh.

i'm going to laugh when cleveland has another bad season, yet still has a better record then dallas! good news is the cowboys should have 2 top 10 picks next year

Browns will win 4 or 5 games max. That will be a top 5 pick.

Have a feeling that the Browns will do better than a lot of us think. Every time a team trades its next year 1st round pick that looks to be a top 5 pick they seem to finish 7-9 to- 8-8 range. IE the Giants and Washington come to mind recently when they traded their 1st round picks and looked like crap.

Second day was way too boom or bust, I know I know that's what the second day is for, but come on, the success rate at turning quarterbacks into acceptable receivers is just not that good (excluding the Drew Bennett and Atwaan El whatever).

First day looks good on paper...but it all depends on the the Browns, and if this guy can beat out Ellis and Carpenter, cuz that's what he's got to do to make it a success.

Now, I'm hoping for another implosion from Winslow and that 'o-line' or whatever JV crap they trot out to play even worse than last year.

Darren McFadden, Brian Brohm.... those will probably go 1-2. But since the Cowboys need a young WR. We could trade down if Browns do suck. And get someone like DeSean Jackson, Mario Manningham, Limas Sweed or even Malcom Kelly.

As a Browns fan and a Cowboys fan, I'm glad for the trade. Quinn isn't going to win the Super Bowl in his rookie season, and they should lose enough games as he's getting acclimated to give the Cowboys a good pick. Win/win situation.

I take back all my negative comments on their draft, I absolutely love it after looking into it a little more. Stanback is going to be a stud, and I really do love the fullback Anderson they drafted.
Oh, and Heinz Ward and Matt Jones aint that bad conversion guys

Ah yah, I forgot about Matt Jones and Heinz Ward, I'm just hoping for Matt Jones type of player out of this guy...that would be, well, really lucky.

Spencer I'm pretty confident about, that seems to have Wade Phillips finger-prints all over it. 'Sides, as far as I can remember, he's always loved a pressure-ballhawking style defense, but not a real defense built on shut-down corners. Having Newman back there is a bonus for him. If Henry and Glenn can at least hold down the fort they don't have a real pressing need for a cornerback.

I can see what Jerry is envisioning with the two OL picks, if they both pan out he's solidified the left side of his line after next year and doesn't need to break the bank on an aging Flozell Adams. Both of those guys have a lot of flexibility, if Doug Free is better than Ryan Diem, that's value.

It's a funny draft, nothing guaranteed (except for Spencer *knock on wood*), but tons of crazy upside. It's the perfect draft to be excited about long-term. And with the make-up of the team, long-term seems to be the outlook.

So....yeah, I'm a convert as well, at least until I see them during the off-season.

Yea, I also have high hopes for Spencer. Mel Kiper picked him as his early favorite for defensive r.o.y. I also think the kicker they took will help on special team next year, but I agree with pretty much everything you said

Winslow & Edwards can go off but they can still lose and I will be happy. I have both of them on my Fantasy Football Keeper Team.

So we drafted Stanback, the QB out of Washington to convert as a WR?

Thats what I heard in an interview on Cowboys.com. He is going to be a reciever prospect, and might even do some return stuff next year. He runs a 4.6 flat, so he doesnt have wild speed, but im sure with his size and talents the coach will find something for him to do.

His 100m time translates to around a 4.2 40 (I know you can't just make that translation because of accelaration to max speed, etc) - so he definitely has some speed. He was a prominent track guy in the PAC-10. Definitely a project though.

I was really happy to see my boys get the extra 1st rd pick since it should at least be a top 10 pick and we also got spencer the guy they wanted all along. I question what ellis' future is with the boys now since we have carpenter and spencer at his postion. Stanback seems to have lots of pontential and it should help getting to watch owens and glenn everyday in practice.

With his tools and throwing ability, I wonder if this is going to add a few additional wrinkles into the Cowboy's offense, such as WR Reverse Option Pass or line him up in the backfield as a passing/running option from a back spot.
