Players like Mellow and JR Smith with their cheapshot fouls to make up for poor defense, Allen Iverson constant whining and overall poor sportsmanship ala Kenyon Martin (previous series like NJ finals 03' and denver 1st round 05') are what is wrong with the NBA. Although it is nice to see the Spurs retaliate by simply playing the game and just winning the Spurs need to toughen up and not take that . These hard fouls on Parker/Ginobilli could easily end our season ala Juwon Cowards foul on DA a few yrs back.

We need an enforcer, a goon who can go in there and rough guys up a bit send a message that were not takin' this . With their backs against the wall in game 4 rest assured punks like Mellow and JR Smith will be pulling the same crap they did last night if they get down again.

Think Dallas will let us borrow Kevin Willis for the remainder of the series?

I wouldn't hold my breath, and besides, it's the elimination game I'm worried about. In 05 it was near the end of the last game that the Nuggets started taking those cheap shots at Manu. A suspension doesn't mean much if you're finished for the season.

    Ely. The big "E"

Let's look at the situation and how it all got started:

Nuggs go up 1 game on Spurs homecourt - check

Nuggs lose 2nd game although played with sense of urgency but lose - check

Nuggs undergo a span of poor execution, low fg%, which makes thuggies come out to play their bottomfeeders game - check

Nuggs lose 3rd game, lose composure, confidence snaps and look winded, tired and old - check

Am I looking at old footage from past years? - no check

Nuggs pissed, gonna play pissed, maybe GNob needs to call local law enforcement to place a restraining order against JR and ‘lil ‘melo.

Robert Motha in Horry is the enforcer.

His blocks have been pretty dominating lately, he flies in and swats the es with a force...doesn't care where he sends the ball.

True, but on one Nuggett who hardly deserved it, Blake.
    Not looking Blake at that.

Suspending JR or marshMellow for Gm 4 would probably make them worse for Gm 5 tho, huh?

There is no way Pop would send in a goon like Ely when this starts. Tim is going to have to do it.

We don't have an enforcer. With Ely in street clothes, Elson might be the closest thing to it.

    yeah right.

Horry was the most physical guy out there for Spurs. but even he couldn't be enforcer. it has to be Elson. at least he should insult them in dutch

If Pop were to actually use a Spur to send a message, it would probably somebody he could afford to lose for the next game or two should said player get a suspension.

I seriously doubt Pop would do something like this in the playoffs, but I do remember a regular season game a while back when Felton Spencer came in as a response to some cheaps shots against one of the Spurs (Robinson?). My memory is fuzzy about who the Spurs were playing, but I think it was Shaq who came out as soon as Spencer checked in.

Exactly. He's always been the one player on your team who can be relied on to grab, hold, push, hack, and occasionally bite the opposition.

    He isn't a Rick Mahorn-style enforcer, but he's dirty and he's fearless.

Tim can get nasty if need be. Ask the Seattle Supersonics. Jaque Vaughn has a little dirty in him. Ask Steve Blake. Francisco Elson likes to call people gay. Ask Kevin Garnett.

Horry didn't really bite anyone. He started to, though. Which makes it twice as hilarious. Gah I love Robert ing Horry.
