i agree with most of that.
This was the tough, hard nosed type win I've been waiting all season for. The Nuggets played their hearts out and gave it everything they had. The Spurs withstood it all and just scratched and clawed their way to a victory.
This is the championship level Spurs Basketball we have all been waiting for since the 2005 le run.
Props to Denver, especially Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson for a great, great effort. However, nobody was beating the Spurs tonight.
The Spurs are back.
Believe.
yipeee!
Believe is officially back!![]()
i never thought... even for a second, that the spurs were gonna lose... even when they were down 8-10 points... for some reason i could just tell that they were a small run from completely taking over the game... once they tied it, i knew for a fact that they were gonna pull it out.
jgw....go to aim
I know this doesn't belong in the believe thread. But when I saw that Eddie Rush was going to ref the game, I got a sick feeling in my stomach.
With Dallas on the ropes, the Western Conference may all of sudden be in need of a favorite.
If Golden State does get by Dallas, that will be truly amazing that both of last years finalist will have been out in the first round.
It ain't over until it's over but I believe because we drew probably the toughest (for us), first round opponent, will have to go through Phoenix and then face whoever (we all thought Dallas) in the WCF. If you are going to win the ring, you have to take all comers and not sneak through the playoffs.
Believe.
I agree 100%. This morning I told my carpool partner that this game was the first one all year that we looked like a legit championship team. This game brought up memories of our recent playoff runs. I have always believed but now I BELIEVE!
There was a moment in the third where I thought, "ah, they might be settling to let it go 2-2...but they can't because it'll change the whole series!! come on, it's only 8 points. They won't!"
and sure enough we're 3-1, so they actually impressed me with this win. They're really focused.
Everytime we'd get down a bit, from stellar plays by AI or Carmello, or a TO or bad jumper. I'd turn my head and Bowen, Manu, Tim, Tony or whoever would play the next possession to put us back up. So yeah, definitely it's Spurs basketball.
Somewhere in that last quarter I couldn't hang in the Game blog thread anymore, so I watched by myself. In those final minutes, I thought to myself..."I hope I didn't stay up this late for a loss" and then Robert Horry made that shot and I had no doubt that a W was in our future.
BELIEVE PEOPLE!
I swear I love watching the Spurs play on the road more than I do at home.
Props to the Spurs. I have been very impressed by them after they dropped the 1st game in San Antonio. They ain't gonna beat the Suns though.
Same here. Except I was loopy and shaking with the effort of staying awake to see the bitter end. All I could do after Horry made that shot was laugh weakly.
That last quarter was terrific. However, the first three were awful. I'm relieved to know they can pull out close, tough, hard ones. I didn't know for certain that they could before. Now they can. But I'll be a lot happier if they didn't continue to play like ass for entire halves +.
Right now, this is me:

ahhhh
I've been waitin for this![]()
I thought the Spurs showed championship intangibles last night, which was definitely a welcome sight. Playing in a hostile environment against a team that really had to win a game and ripping their hearts out with a poised effort late is the stuff of championships.
With that said, some of the tangibles -- at least through 3 quarters -- weren't nearly as good. It proved to be good enough to win, which is all that matters at this point. Fortunately, I think the absent tangibles can be corrected.
Believe.
1.
Believe was never gone.
I believe the Spurs better remember that every game has been close and not relax in game 5.
4 has a bad connotation to me as a Spursfan.
How about believe in Quattro instead?
