Nobody is blaming Dirk for the loss. I'm sayin the guy faded and he did. It cannot be denied. He started the series - already defeated. So yes, I am callin' him out. But I never blamed him for any of the losses. That is a collective problem. But him not showing up for not one game... ?? How dare the fans NOT say something??

Please. I would be more upset if nobody said anything about the guy and his poor performance so many times repeatedly in the playoffs. I'm glad more fans are vocal about it.

Out of that 23 pts, we know 6 came in the FINAL 30 seconds... so out of that 17, how many pts were from the FT line? I dont remember.

    17 points, those last 2 desperation three's don't count.

and this is the playoffs, he's playing more minutes, he should be scoring more points and not deferring to stackhouse or devean ing george.

He only shot 4 free thows because he refuses to drive to the rim, he shot under 50% again, and had a 1/1 assist to turnover ratio. His teamates didnt really help him out, but if he is going to go to the line 4 times in a game, they wont win.

and he only took those last two 3's in hopes that he would get an additional & 1 called. he was tryin to hard to look like he got fouled both times.

His lack of assists surprises me most...when the Mavs were really rolling along this season, he was getting 6, 7, 8 assists...

Dirk has been below avg, but I don't blame it all on him...just like I didn't blame him for the finals meltdown last year. People just love to hate the guy...

Interestingly, I feel that Terry has been the reason for our lack of success against GS. He has been ineffective against Davis both on defense and offense. Notice, our one win coincided with Terry scoring 28 and Davis getting ejected.

Before last night, I felt game 2 would have been won regardless of the Davis and Jackson ejections. watching us blow a 7 point lead in the 4th makes me not so sure now.

If Terry steps up his game, then we have a shot.

If it was any other un-acclomplished superstar he would be getting ripped as well, kind of the way Kobe and Lebron have gotten ripped all year. He is the teams best player and league MVP, how could you not expect all of the blame to come down on him? In fact , he seems to be getting more of a pass than most guys get, the media hasnt really been as hard on him as thye are on others, only Mav fans are ripping him really, and it is well deserved

Not to mention that a few of his shots were so badly off target that they either airballed (bad), or even worse.... led to a fast break for the Warriors.

    LOL...the last 6 pts doesn't count??

So what if Harris doesn't throw it away and gets it to Howard who hits a 3 at the buzzer?? Then Dirk would've been "clutch" and "big time" etc etc...

I was speaking more in general...not just this series or even the finals. People seem to over-state his failures and under-state his successes...

I'd still leave Dirk in. I mean, wtf? One airball <<< a history of drilling 3s with accuracy.

It was a bad night for Dirk, but he can still hit the shot. Leave him in instead of killing his confidence by pulling him.

^ Thank you... 4 bad nights...IN A ROW! Let him play thru it until the series is over?

Plus I think his confidence was down after Game 1 or something... he hasnt been able to get it back.

There were several possessions in the fourth quarter where the Mavs advanced the ball, and he stood around at the arc and refused to call for the ball, or he received a pass and immediately gave it back up without even trying to attack. There were several instances where we actually got the matchup we wanted...Dirk iso'd on Barnes or some other much shorter guy without a chance in of normally being able to guard him, and he hesitated instead of attacking. In that situation he was 10 feet in at the elbow, he could've just backed him down and dunked on him, or shot over him since you can't block a 7-footer's jumpshot. Numbers don't tell everything.

For what it's worth...he had the best +/- of any Mav in Game Four...we were +7 when he was on the floor.

It's not like Dirk hasn't been guarded like this before. But the guy who cut up San Antonio and Phoenix is not the same guy flailing away in this series. His problem is between his ears. Someone else referred to it as "Brad Lidge disease."

I will always maintain that if we had last year's Dirk in this series, we would've made short work of Golden State. As it is, by turning him into a role player and Davis playing the series of his life, they're probably gonna take this in 6, if not tonite.

yeah.. I havent seen Dirk do that pumpfist everytime he makes a good shot. This isnt the Mav team in the regular season, and this wasnt the Warrior team who won 40 games.

All due respect to the Mavs bench, but what are you going to do if you sit Nowitzki? If he's really playing that bad, sit him for 30 minutes and let him work in limited time off the bench.

It makes no sense. I don't care if he's struggling, he's your team. Avery needs to slap him and piss him off a little bit. Until then, leave him on the floor, if nothing else for his 23-15. He's not shooting well, but who ELSE on your team can step up? Stack? Seriously. Terry? Maybe, but he's inconsistent and streaky. Josh disappears in the fourth and doesn't seem to have that desire to win in crunch time.

It has to be Dirk. It has to be. If he sucks, the series is over anyway, so put him on the floor, tell him to be aggressive, and hope for the best. If he finds his rhythm and grooves a few, you guys can still win this series.
