I still support them. I'm just not happy with them right now.
This is the time to show you are a fan....To man up and still support your team. Hopefully you guys will get rid of all the bandwagoners and be left with a little more humility.
Don't worry about your team; they're still going to be great for a long time coming. As long as you don't blow it up. Support your team, watch the off season and come back with more desire next year.
I still support them. I'm just not happy with them right now.
They choked in the Finals in 2006 after being up 2-0 and eliminated in the first round after fake winning 67 regular season games. Hard to repair that.
Trade Dirk. Trade Howard. Trade Terry. Useless useless useless.
This series victory for GS isn't about the Spurs. It's about going out and beating a team they were supposed to beat.
I think Jason Terry should thank his lucky stars that Dirk's horrible game 6 will take all the attention, because Terry pretty much killed the mavs this series.
I've stuck through this team through Roy Tarpley, 11 wins, the Three J's, Miami and now Golden State. Angry, Hurt, Disappointed, Frustrated, all of that. But still a fan...I don't ever want to be confused with the cocaine and boobjob crowd that makes up the lower bowl of the AAC, or the 14 year old girls with pink Dirk jerseys.
i'm still a mavs fan...a bit dejected but i'll bounce back in oh, say six months...and i'm an nba fan so yes i will be watching the rest of the playoffs
It's times like this that sort the wheat from the chaff.![]()
Joined the bandwagon in 01 and dont plan to jump off. Longtime lurker here, but decided to join after the game to show some comiseration.
I hate to say "I told you so" but stretch, ponky, dirk4mvp, Dirk Nowtizki (poster), Shank, pussyface, and mavsfan100... I didn't just rip on those Mavs players for my own health this year or to piss you all off. I was actually trying to make a valid point that personalities, team chemistry, and a will to win are more important in the playoffs than simple X and O's and stats like who grabs the most rebounds.
I don't know if the Suns have it against the Spurs, but I certaintly feel pretty strongly that a few guys out there (Bell, Nash, and Amare) have the brutal combination of leadership and tenacity that the Mavs sorely lacked all season despite their stellar record.
mono, you might already be gone due to the specifications of your bet, but you were the first to go out on a limb and say "Dump Dirk" and you're probably right.
Too bad SpursDynasty won that bet. If i believed in God, him winning that bet would have seriously challenged my faith.
The fairweathers will show their true colors
Seriously, this is a team that on paper should have been in their prime for the next 3-5 years.
Now, I don't think there's any way they can just stay pat going into next season, even though on paper that might be the logical thing to do. The bad psychological ju-ju would be just too much.
So, knowing Cuban, the only thing that makes sense is a big splashy trade. There's no way to get value for Dirk now. You're not going to get much for Stackhouse or Terry. The most likely thing is a trade of someone like Howard and/or Harris plus picks and whatever for an aging horse like KG or JKidd.
Be a very interesting off season for Mav Fan.
I'll watch the series because it should be great basketball. Don't know wether to Pull for Nash or Fin though. Probably Fin, though I think the Suns will win. I disagree with dumping dirk though. He was usually pretty loose in the playoffs till Avery showed up. Although I'll be the first to admit Avery made Dirk a much better all around player. Dirk's general game has benefited more from Avery than anyone else on the team. I think Avery pushes the wrong buttons in the playoffs. Before Avery, Dirk was always better in the playoffs, now he's worse.
Yeah props to the mav fans that have been on this board all season long. the n00bs though.
Stay classy San Antonio
Except the ones that have been on this board all season long (well, after the first four regular season games anyway), but then stopped posting after game 3 of the playoffs.
yeah well - im still a Mavs fan. will be til i die... i'm not at all hurt/shocked by the way the game went... i picked up on the loss the first 5 mins of the game when all we had were 3 pt shots and had no desire to drive. i still stuck it out and watched it til the end - down to the last GS bucket... down to the benchwarmers comin in and even them gettin fouled!
but... with that said - i'm still gonna watch the playoffs. Mavs will be watching with me... oh well... at first i was upset about it, but now its like - they didnt even look like they tried, so i'm not mad. our mvp - where was he? i dunno... he was no where to be found...
so i'm proud of GS... i think im startin to crush on SJAX too... something about those dark lips...
lol, your little two-timing mvp and his two all-star sidekicks aren't getting a sniff of the wcf this year so keep up the smack, you have about a week and a half left
OK as far as I remember, yes you beat us last year, but are you saying we've never beaten you before? You act as if you've owned the Spurs forever.
Ehhhhhhhhhh, wrong. Enjoy fishing weed
Only thing I don't like about the Mavs is Cuban. Take him away and I'd feel bad for them. It was painful watching Dirk in the post game conference.
Same here. No Cuban, they'd be one of the handful of teams I could pull for.
cuban and terry and aj
get rid of them I might not mind dallas
when i saw dirk in that post game conference, the maternal instinct in me must've taken over. i was telling my bf that sometimes, rooting for the mavs is like having a kid who pees in his pants at school!
