Opponents point per posession stat

Is this a good stat by which to rate defenses? Suns were 3rd in the league I was told. I can't see how the Suns could be near the top of defensive stat.

I know points per game allowed is what is a better indicator. Where are the Spurs ranked? COuld anyone provide a stat link?

I'm pretty sure Spurs are #1 in opponent scoring.

Opponents points per possession is the best defensive stat to me.
