Gino is READY!!
MANU-Tiger.. ROOOAARR!!
One thing about the Spurs--
When they get embarrassed--especially in a playoff game--they come back with a vengeance.
They totally sucked tonight--granted.
Everyone except for Tim had their head somewhere.
Pop has called out the team in his post-game remarks--probably the most brutal he's been since he called the team soft and the worst defensive squad earlier this year.
The next few days are going to be brutal on the Spurs players. Many days of hard practices.
Many days of national media taking their shots at the team, propping up the Suns, disregarding our first win due to Nash getting hurt.
In his remarks, Pop called his team's defensive play as being "novices."
This is a heavyweight fight--both teams drew blood.
Now the real war begins.
Anyone who wants to jump off the bandwagon--do it right now.
No time to panic--to call people names--to call for Pop's head, Manu's head, etc.
The Spurs are the classiest team in the league.
If some of the whiny writers on this message board would realize that in a seven game series, these kind of games occur--they would take a chill pill.
This one is over. The team will be going over the film (or rather, video). They are going to get their lumps in practice.
Now is the time they need us Spurs fans to support them--not to throw eggs at them.

Well said. The Spurs win the series if they win all their home games.
Still, when a team plays as pathetic as tonight's performance (except for Duncan, who was magnificent), it is hard to keep that frustration bottled up.
Yeah they will come out ready for game 3. The effort was nowhere to be found tonight which is very frustrating. If the Spurs bring their D and Manu shows up they will win game 3 and 4.
We desperately need a No Limit Army Commander X post X

Is that really you Manu? That is F'n hillarious...
lol@ sun fans being happy when the suns actually beat the spurs on thier own homecourt
Actually I think its really Nash getting ready to jump into bed with Stat and Raja Ring My Bell.
*groan*
Smack is so lame. Save it for the street, hot dogs.
Look at the bright side.
In order for the Suns to win on their own floor for the first time against the Spurs in years, they had to have the following:
1. Their backs against the wall;
2. Their own point guard publicly stating that his teammates had no balls;
3. The worst game in Tony Parker's career in a playoff game;
4. Manu to continue having his head somewhere else;
5. Kurt Thomas having his best game in 10 years;
6. Overall, for the Spurs to have their worst half of a game in years.
The way I see it--
This never happens again all at once.
Spurs in Five;
Suns fans--the good ones--welcome to the message board;
The goofy ones--go back to AZ.

i can see who the message board cheerleader is.. time to pep rally BOYS!!!!
And they didn't come out in with fire in Game 2 because?
got way way too comfortable with being up 1-0
as far as they were concerned, their mission was already complete
like you said, they had a chance to virtually end the series with a win tonight, and instead have a potential game 7 on the horizon
the spurs have to take both in SA to have a firm cushion in the drivers seat
I think they were a little complacent in the first half.
Like they didn't pounce on the Suns necks from the get go.
nobody listen to this idiot- he still thinks Tim Thomas is on the Suns
I don't know about "on fire", but they will come out with a fierce intensity of purpose, like they did in 2-5 of the Nuggets' series and in game 1.
Have no fear, the real SPURS will appear!
The hotel, of course.
Naaah, they got their split, felt tired and beat up, and let the Suns have one. After they've watched the game tape they will CRINGE to buggery, and come out in game three with the same steel we saw in them in game 2 of the Nuggets series.

I wasn't going to say anything in case it was someone who actually game-planned for the Spurs. Hey, if the Spurs are worried about Tim Thomas, y'all better put a man on him. You could probably find him at the Santa Monica Krispy Kreme. How's that for stretching a defense?
Kurt.
Tim.
Who gives a .
Point still valid.
Lets see how he does over a seven game series.
Suns fans are such assholes--now I know why Laker fans hate them so much.
lakers fans hate us because we've dominated them the past two years. and thats exactly why we hate you so much![]()
Game 2 was horrible.
But Phoenix has to beat us on our home floor. I'm not sure they're capable of that. If we win out at home, this series only goes 6 games.
I thought the 1st qtr was fine. We had a 6 pt lead. What sucked was that Phoenix got tougher and we didn't respond. Here's where we went south, imo:
Elson - He sucked last night. Just a bad job. When he plays well, we are so much better. Missed defensive assignments and an easy dunk which led to a fast break +1 opportunity for Bell.
Vaughn- If he can't make a basket, he's worthless. He missed several open jumpers. The fact that he was so bad made Tony's rest time limited. It also allowed the defense to crowd the lane. That's what hurt Manu. He couldn't drive and when he did, he had to face 2 or more defenders.
Barry - He has been terrible for a while now. He sucked against Denver and he's continuing to play poorly again. Like Vaughn, if he's not scoring he's actually worse than just being on the bench because he is a defensive liability. Reaching and hacking fouls were abundunt.
Oberto - Bad fouls, decent rebounding.
Tony - He was below average. He was missing his outside shot and the lane was clogged. He forced some things and didn't share the ball very well.
Bad defense, missed Ft's and bad offense. It was all bad. If not for the Suns' slow start, it should have been worse. Overall, besides Tim, it was the worst playoff performance I have seen in a while. I think Seattle 2 years ago kicked us around.
My hope is that we get mad, focused, rested and come out on fire at home. The crowd should be rocking. We just haven't played as well at home as we have in past years and that kind of worries me.
You just can't start playing consistent defense over night. Phoenix did great for 1 game. Can they keep it up for the series ? I don't think so.
