... on three possessions in the 4th quarter?

At least that's what I saw on the highlights on ESPN here...

Does anyone have the link where Nash hit those shots over Timmy? I find many links but none features the other two shots when Timmy was on Nash.

Was Pop putting TD on Nash a game plan or were those possessions a result of screens>?

    Thanks..

I wanna show this to a friend who argues he doesn't believe what I said that Tim guarded Nash on three possessions one-on-one in the 4th quarter. Since I have no links I guess I have to turn to you all Spurs fans to help me here. Thanks...

Players often switch on defense. This is how mismatches occur.

But it happened on three possessions (at least those were the ones that I saw)... and all happened to Tim.

Did D'Antoni think Nash going one-on-one on Tim is a good idea? Shooting over him like Nash did was no easy task

We were switching on the pick and roll in the fourth. Phoenix noticed it and went to the well to get TD in a mismatch on Nash.

TD was guarding Nash because he switched off his man.

Might have been from the pick n' roll or from rotation, I don't remember.

Another question: do you guys think the mismatch is to Nash's or to the defense' advantage?

Nah, the Suns just kept running high pick-and-rolls, which was giving them either wide open lanes into the paint or leaving Tim stuck on Nash. Which was pretty much the key to them blowing that 4th wide open.

And you would think it is to the Suns advantage, because Nash SHOULD be able to blow past Tim out on the perimeter. But for some reason, he always bails Tim out by passing around the key or chucking up a three.

    haha

it was a mismatch. noone did it intentionally.

the funny thing is it happened 2 or 3 times in a row. (it won't be funny anymore if it happens again )

    Easily to Nash's advantage.

Why, you guys are making it seem like it's easy to shoot over 7 footers?

Maybe Tim wasn't comfortable guarding him on the perimeter but he still is a great defender and relied on his instincts. He knew he had to use his length to bother the shots and I thought he did well...

Nash just buried difficult shots, like he normally does.
