no.
Horry will go down in history as one of the most clutch players ever (as well as the most "in the right place at the right time" guy ever) for all of his Big Shots. But this is in all likelyhood his last season in the league. Does the fact that such a significant action against such a beloved player in the absolute twilight of his career alter how he is perceived later on? Or in 5 years will this be a moot point and just go down as one of I'm sure several flagrant fouls in his career?
doubt it, it will suck now, but time heals all wounds
No one will remember this 2 years from now except PHX fans.
its not like he took his in head off
Just FYI, there's another thread with the exact same question on the second page.
If the Spurs advance and he makes a few more clutch shots not in the least will it taint anything.
suns fans act like horry did something on par with kermit washington's fist to rudy t's nose. i'd be surprised if sun fan even knows what i am referencing.
When the Spurs win the series this will be the "Biggest Shot" Rob will have ever made here ....................
So if the Spurs do win the championship there will only be an asterisk on it in Phoenix in a couple years?
It will help his legacy more than anything. Fans won't remember his 2-game suspension, they'll only remember the 1-game suspensions for Amare and Diaw that accompanied it.
that would be stupid now, wouldn't it? It wasn't even that hard of a foul! I mean, yeah it was a flagrant 2, but come on! Suns fans are crying because it very well may have ended their playoff run, but in all seriousness, Horry is not a dirty player. One flagrant foul doesn't not a dirty player make, know what I'm saying?
I looked briefly and didn't see one. There have been soooo many new threads its really hard to keep track of.
Actually yes, some of us do. Horry's fould was not near on that level, regardless of what any other Suns fan said. Emotions in Phx are running high, as I'm sure you guys can understand, even still, that is no excuse for the stupidity being spread by some fans.
No. Horry will get the last laugh.
I don't even think it was that much of a flagrant foul. A hard foul, yes, but no elbows thrown, no body slam, no undercutting someone while he's in the air, no clothes-lining. It was just a hard body-block.
It was a body check. A hard foul.
Not even a particularly dirty play, honestly. A cheap shot, but no big deal. Not worthy of a two game suspension, and had not Amare/Diaw walked out, I seriously doubt he would have seen any suspension (since other players have not - although, perhaps a one game for the 'altercation' aspect).
One flagrant foul that didn't actually harm the player hit in a really physical series overcome 6 rings and some of the biggest shots in NBA history?
Nah, that's pretty doubtful.
Does anyone remember Moses Malone as a three point threat? No.
And that was the last thing he did. In a Spurs uniform, a glorious touchdown throw from past midcourt at the Alamodome. True greatness. :-)
Horry just got tainted.
Not at all. Horry's a genius. He probably didn't mean things to pan out like this. But deep within him, he's programmed to win the NBA. And once again, he's come up with a Big Shot to keep us in this series.
all of a sudden its the world vs spurs
them![]()
yes .... "big shot rob" just became "cheap shot rob" ...... due to the action but also due to who it was done to - Nash is popular among fans and players .... this will not be forgotten easily ..... also noticbly smaller than Horry ... makes him look like a bully .... sad but true ....
suns, kings, and mavs fans...no rings, all gripes
