Phoenix is a of a matchup.
Wouldnt be suprised to see a matchup of
Duncan
Bowen
Ginobili
Barry
Parker
vs
Stoudamire
Marion
Richardson
Johnson
Nash
1. The Spurs opponents have averaged 15.7 assists per game (first in the league). Second in this category is Utah at 18.0. The average in the league is around 21. Is this a strong statement for the Spurs D in that they don't let other teams get into the flow of their offense?
2. Denver leads the league with 13 technicals so far this season. The Spurs are tied for last in the league with one.
3. The Suns lead the league averaging 107.3 ppg while only allowing 95.4 for a +11.9 differential. The Spurs are second in the league with +7.5 differential.

With their lineup staring you in the face, you see why they are beating the tar out of teams.
Not potential wise, but current play, Nash is still better than Parker, especially with assists (though their system of play, like Dallas', helps Nash).
Manu is still better than Richardson I think.
Amare is playing about as well as Duncan, so that ends up being pretty close to a wash.
Joe Johnson is better than Barry, though.
Marion is WAY better than Bowen.
Of course, comparisions of individual players is not as important as how well each player fills their ROLE. If Manu and Parker can score 15+ pts, that is a key against this team, because they are going to score, and we ARE going to be forced to play small ball with them at times, as has the rest of the league.
Yeahm that stat is nothing new. The Spurs have always always been among the best in the league in that category...and were far and away the #1 team in that category the previous two seasons. The Spurs usually are a strong #1 in assist differential as well. The year they won the le they had a huge assist differential and were #1 by a very large margin, inspite of not being among the league leaders in team assists per game.
Stats are cool but If your a Gambling person should you go by stats to place your wagers?
Thats simply because we slow the game down so much, we don't let people fast break and get those easy transition baskets where they get the gimme assists. We force them to play a half court style game where assists are rare.1. The Spurs opponents have averaged 15.7 assists per game (first in the league). Second in this category is Utah at 18.0.
