what about tim?
players you'd take to battle with in the classroom
PG-Steve Blake
SG-Derek Fisher
SF-Shane Battier
PF-PJ Brown
C-Adonal Foyle
honorable mention-Amare Stoudemire![]()
C-David Robinson (retired division) or, actually Shaquille O'Neal. O'Neal's SATs were a lot higher than you might think.
About Shane Battier? I don't think so.
Adonal Foyle is a legitimately bright guy.
I'm surprised that BUMP would exclude a guy like Etan Thomas.
Im thinking Brent Barry is probably pretty smart
Seriously?
for the NBA, yeah...how many NBA guys speak more than one language and got over 1200 on their SATs?
oh, and for retired NBA guys, i'd have to go with Kareem
Mt Mutumbo, but after him I wouldnt think to many
lol, i was thinking of American players because I'm sure there are lots of players like Elson and Mbenga who speak five languages
Ahh, but did they get high sat scores?
For retired NBA guys, I'll take Bill Bradley.
oh, mutombo took the SATs? interesting. anyway, not sure if the SAT was such a big deal back in the day, seems like Kareem with his 131 IQ would've done well.
oh yeah, good choice
I'll take Kareem. He's wrote numerous books and is a big time scholar. Bill Russell is also a very intelligent person.
kareem 131 IQ? so kareem is nine points away from being a genius but he decided to pursue basketball? You can never trust anyone when they tell you their IQ. it's pretty much a lie born with a protective shield, in that like a penis it's something everybody wants to lie about but not everyone will get to see.
vaughn had a 4.0 in college
I agree about Kobe.
I am surprised about Shaq. He has a high basketball iq, but I didn't know if that would translate into school.
Tim and Shane Battier are obvious picks as is David Robinson. As a math person, I have to favor him. But I understand that he is quite a musician, correct? I wish I had any musical ability, but trust me on this one, I don't. So, I admire that he has both math and music (and imo, both are equally important and I say that as a math teacher).
I actually believe that most of the mvp winners are pretty smart, at least in basketball iq, because pure, natural talent and even work ethic won't be enough.
Wow, jacque!!!
Impressive.
