i agree with you, when things get shaky TD is the answer
TP owned the 1st half, played consistently throughout the last 6 games.
Manu CLOSED out Games 5 & 6.
but my pick is:
TIM DUNCAN
-defense
-scoring
-leadership

Bruce Bowen. Single team defense on Nash, and took his game away. The Suns defense was good enough to win (and the Spurs offense was not good enough to win), but the Spurs defense (and Suns lack of offense) made the difference. And Bowen was the catalyst for that.
Thats not even a question bro. Tim was, is, and will always be until he retires, the MVP of this team. If these playoffs haven't proven that by now, you probably haven't been watching. The man brings EVERYTHING! leadership, scoring, defense, at ude, class. A bad night from him, is something like 19pts 9rband even then, the man impacts the game in ways that go well beyond whats on the scoreboard. I mean seriously, how can anyone doubt that.
whoa Bruce Bowen getting some props from a Suns fan.![]()
Tim duncan is always the MVP.
Nothing happens without his support or offense.
I didn't mean it as a compliment, just an unfortunate fact.
Tim duncan is always the MVP.
Nothing happens without his support or play.
Horry for taking out Steve Nash and getting Stoudemire and Diaw suspended.
who do you think is the better 6th man of this series:
the NBA's 2007 6th man of the year Barbosa
or
Manu Ginobili?
obvious answer, robert horry ...![]()
Ginobili, obviously. Barbosa was a big disappointment. He's still young, and I think nerves destroyed his game. I gather from the boards that Spurs fans have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Ginobili, but I don't know why. He's good.
well, I'm not one of them.
Long friggin' story!! Suffice to say, on any given game, Spurs fans will jump off the bandwaggon more times than you can count Amares whining in this series. The only problem is we seem to have the annoying habit of throwing our players under the wheels in the process. These playoffs it was Manu, others it has been Tony, its just the flavor of the season I guess
Not that Manu hasn't brought some of it on himself with the crappy play of late, but the overreaction sometimes goes over the top.
Any MVP award concerning the Spurs goes to Tim Duncan.
Disqualifying Duncan, I'd probably go with Parker. He had a team best plus/minus for the series and played lockdown defense on Barbosa. He cut Barbosa's production in half and also played Nash better than probably anyone else on the team outside of Game 6 Bowen.
20.8 points and 5.7 assists with a team leading plus/minus is hopefully a breakthrough performance of sorts for Parker.
amares numbers 26.8ppg 10.2rpg 2bpg
duncan numbers 28.35ppg 13.66rpg 4.25bpg
PWNED
I wouldn't call it owned.
Wait...
I just read it again and I confer....
PWNED!!!
Tim Duncan. No contest. Heck, it's not even fair to compare him to anyone.
Duncan by far, he owned the Suns and was even going to the rim through some double teams.
Has to be Duncan. I'm always on edge when he's on the bench.. w/c is why it was such a pleasant surprise when the 4th quarter started and the Spurs passed the lead with TD resting.
