The Suns always will argue they deserved something better. Fans will always argue they deserved to see more of this series, which will still be the best of the NBA postseason.

But there's a response to these sentiments, and it came in another western town, then in the movie "Unforgiven." The corrupt sheriff has been shot, and he's on the floor, and he's staring at the gun that will finish him. He says, "I don't deserve this ... to die like this. I was building a house."

And the shooter, as played by Clint Eastwood, says, "Deserve's got nothin' to do with it."
