i don't like ledger in this role either to be honest. still, if he rises to the occasion it could really prove him a versatile actor. he'll be tested pretty good if you ask me.
This is a totally different Joker than I've seen. I was skeptical of Ledger playing him, but just pic alone looks awesome.

i guess him playing a gay cowboy has opened up doors for him to play a man who wears makeup
I guess he could've gotten the batman part for the same reasons....

"Contemporary director Joel Shumacher has been universally applauded by gay groups for further eroticising the Batman film franchise by adding to the costumes of Val Kilmer and George Clooney a set of pert nipples, firmer buttocks, and an extended, inflatable codpiece which more or less resembles a grocery basket overstuffed with bananas."
"Psychologist Fredric Wertham's general assertion in his 1954 book Seduction of the Innocent is that readers imitated crimes committed in comic books, and that these works corrupt the morals of the youth. The most notorious charge in the book, however, is leveled at Batman, in a four-page polemic claiming that Batman and Robin are gay. "They live in sumptuous quarters, with beautiful flowers in large vases, and have a butler," Wertham wrote. "It is like a wish dream of two sexuals living together."
"Most recently, George Clooney said in an interview with Barbara Walters that in Batman & Robin he played Batman as gay. "I was in a rubber suit and I had rubber nipples. I could have played Batman straight, but I made him gay." Barbara Walters after laughing then asked, "George, is Batman gay?" To which he responded, "No, but I made him gay."
The Joker is supposed to be a sadistic dangerous serial killer, mostly he's portrayed as some gullible, clumsy, clown who is always foiled by Batman. That makes me mad. The picture of that Joker looks like a good portrayal of he should be. Read the Killing Joke if you haven't, it's an excellent read, especiially if you like books with pictures.
That is very very nice. I wonder how they are going to explain the scars. I don't ever remember the joker having scars on his lips.
"Although Napier survives, the chemicals wreak a horrible toll: his hair is dyed green, his skin is bleached white, and a botched attempt at reconstructive surgery severs critical facial nerves, leaving him with an eternal "smile."
They don't have to explain every little scar or mark on his face...
I like how they've gone true to the origina batmans, and made these movies dark and sadistic.
I swear to god with all my being they will pick Fez to play Carnage in Spiderman 4. Then they will do a Hulk 2 starring Hyde.
Christian Bale was the last well casted superhero. Hands. Down.
wow?
This Batman movie is going to be the darkest ever. I love it.
Who will be batman?
Tim Burton's version of 'darkness' has become rather gay with time. But thats probably an unavoidable process of americanization.
N/M i see that Bale is resuming his role.
So that forces me to see it.
But it has that hack Maggie Gyllenhall.
So that forces me not to see it.
I guess Ledger will be the deciding factor. We'll see in the trailer.
I hate the love interest. Batman doesn't have one. That's why he's a badass. In the comics his only love was to be feared and have his way with the ing criminals. Batman has no weaknesses.
It's funny how on the IMDB message boards opinions on this picture seem to vary wildly.
I may have said this before but I'll say it again, Superman has super powers, he can leap tall buildings in a single bound, he's faster than a speeding bullet and more powerful than a locomotive, but Batman doesn't have any of that, he's got a few cool gadgets but other than that he's just a ing badass, and I think Batman Begins really captured that well, and hopefully The Dark Knight will follow in that same manner....
So far it looks like it will...
Bale has the Midas Touch.
yeah, newsies and swing kids are severely underrated.
"When super-villains want to scare each other, they tell Joker stories."-Trickster
It's good that they're adding the menacing side back to the joker with Ledger looking dark in that photo, hopefully it carries onward into the film.
How did the Joker go from being this:
To ing this?
It's still a mystery to me. What a ing disgrace. They made scarecrow look from the Wizard of Oz and Twoface like a ing Ice Pop.
And how did Batman go from being this:
To this:
Holy Mother God.![]()
Well E20, the bottom picture is off of a kids cartoon.
So give me a little slack, can't have something above like that on a cartoon.
So does anyone have an idea of what the plot of this movie is gonna be?
