We love our 'plodding, methodical' offenses, that when ran well, can be described as nothing less than brilliance on hardwood. We come from our tiny markets, with our boring players, and have the most loyal of fans. These fans appreciate both of our hard-nosed, old school coaches, who expect nothing but 110% out of their players, and will adjust accordingly when they don't like what they are seeing. We LOVE to win, and when we do, we let it be, no bragging. We expect to win, but respect each opponent to the point where we aren't always comfortable (unless it's Atlanta ). And we have the most intelligent fans when it comes to actual basketball, because let's face it, nobody else plays REAL basketball in the league besides the Spurs, Jazz, and Pistons. Fundamental. Defense. Rebounding. Execution. Defense. Rebounding. Execution.

Oh, and a lingering love with foreign players.

    Just a thought.

That's the byproduct of Gregg Popovich doing his best to emulate Sloan's teams with Stockton and Malone and convincing Spurs fans of the wisdom of that choice by winning multiple les while having had a legitimate chance at several others.

This is a fan base that was raised (old schoolers at least) on an offensive system that would have put the current Suns to shame -- with similar near-misses and playoff flameouts -- but that has learned about championships by watching dominant defensive teams that control tempo and work effectively in the half-court while breaking occasionally. We've learned this team's playbook because we see the precise execution so frequently that we're able to tell when someone has done something wrong.

I'd like to hear some more about that whole rebounding thing, though. These Spurs don't seem to really understand that concept.

Yeah, WE get love from Stern?

Bahahah! Stern would rather have to a goose than watch the Jazz make it to the Finals. He'd do anything to stop it.

K, I've heard this twice, so I'll change it.

But I wanna hear the story behind this JohnnyBlaze.

Why do people hate him so?

Well, lots of us feel that way about the Spurs and Stern, too. In fact, I've heard it said that the Spurs have won in spite of Stern, not because of him.

Personally, I don't think he gives a damn about anything except ratings - so we're all about even, aren't we? None of us get ratings. Sounds fair to me.
