Does anyone know if there is a ulative penalty for fouling out?
eg. if player X gets fouled out for 10 games, there is an automatic 1 game suspension, something along those lines?
If not, why are coaches so cautious in potential foul-out situations? Especially, given that refs usually give significant la ude in cases where a player is close to fouling out...

and as the games go on, if so many fouls are committed and players start fouling out, if there's nobody on the bench to come in, teams shoot one free throw and get posession for each foul committed.. that's probably never happened though..
No, there isn't. However if you ac ulate enough flagrant fouls, you do get suspended. There is a schedule of exactly how many flagrants cause what suspensions.
They are trading off the reward of having the player on the floor vs. the risk of him picking up the 6th foul and having him be unavailable. Even picking up the 5th foul is bad, because the other coach will run isolations against him, knowing he won't aggressively defend for fear of fouling out.If not, why are coaches so cautious in potential foul-out situations? Coaches also have to worry about overtimes. You don't get extra fouls just because it's an overtime game.
I think it is 5 techs and you are out
or something like that
2 techs = ejection
