you cool
congrats on your win tonight Spurs fans.. if things go the way they have the last 7 years for us, you'll be moving on to the NBA Finals.. for those of you who would like, feel free to head over to my page and check out my pics.. for those who do not want to, i don't care to hear from your comments on how much my pictures and website suck..
http://www.jazzcrap.com
i just wanted to say first before i leave how you think the entire state was throwing things at your players.. that was not the case.. 99% of the arena are fans of the NBA and the game of basketball.. a few fans get a little out of hand, yeah i'll admit, but that doesn't make all of us bad fans.. and no, i'm not mormon..
hopefully i'll have some pics on Friday night, but that will be a long shot.. i'll post my recap about tonight's game, and i'd love to hear your comments should you have any..
the Jazz had a chance to win this game starting the 4th quarter down by just one point.. thing turned that quarter when the refs took over the game.. the Spurs had a 25-2 free throw advantage in the 4th quarter.. that is absolutely ridiculous.. Jerry was thrown venting his frustration with the refs, but that made no difference and the free throws continued.. it's just so frustrating.. the Spurs are a better team, but when the refs are on their side, we stand absolutely no chance whatsoever..
hopefully this won't be the last game of the season, but if things go in San Antonio the way they have the last 7 year, we'll see you next year.. Jazz need to play well and hopefully the refs won't suck as bad..
let's see.. what else is there to talk about..
during the Jazz introductions, an errant firework went flying down into the crowd from above.. it was crazy, and i had a picture right as the firework was on it's way down.. a few ushers and some security went to check, but i guess the people were fine..
i really, really, really hate thunderstix/bam bams.. yeah, they're fun and make a lot of noise, but they really make taking pictures hard.. i had to stand up if i wanted any decent pictures, and it still sucked because people hold them above their head.. lame..
though i do not condone this type of action, because of the frustration over the officials, someone a few sections to my left in the upper bowl threw a cup down near the court.. it went flying and made it all the way down to the first row of the lower bowl.. everyone started looking up over in that direction, and they think the got who threw it.. i took a picture of him on the way out as he was being held by security.. spurs fans are funny.. i checked a Spurs message board tonight when i got home and that seems to be the highlight of their topics.. "utah fans are so lame, throwing things at players".. come on, it's not everyone.. i agree with you, people who throw things at players are lame, but don't think it's the whole damn state..
congratulations Spurs.. with the refs on your side like they were tonight, you'll win the next 5 championships.. refs suck.. i don't have much more to say.. enjoy the pics..
Great pix, I just checked them out...
Is that Manu's brother and wife seating next to Eva?

i have no idea what either of them look like, but now that you mention it, that guy does kind of look a little bit like Manu.. thanks for posting that!
True. We got the FTs this time around. But part of the game is knowing how to draw fouls and like others have said, it doesn't happen at mid-range. Both team shooting the same approximate number of FTs does not indicate fairness. I saw maybe one or two calls that could have gone against the Spurs. That wouldn't have changed the outcome. I didn't see any fouls called against the Jazz that were unfair, but even if they were, the refs were most definitely in your corner in game 3. So it evens out.
I appreciate you posting the link to your pics, etc.
Thanks![]()
I don't know, but if I was sitting behind her, I'd accidentally donkey punch her into next week.
Good post. I cannot argue any of that. You're teams playoff experience was shown in the 4th quarter and the Jazz eventually became frustrated with all of the fouls called as the quarter went on..
You should stick around. Thanks for sharing your pics.
That is Many and Manu's brother sitting next to Eva... you are correct.
Nice post, and yes, it's always the 1% who ruin it for everyone else, however this is completely wrong:
It wasn't that the refs took over, it was that your team went cold, then choked and refused to take it to the hole, while ours went to the rack nearly every possession despite the fact that they got clobbered all game with few calls until the fourth. Watch the quarter again.the Jazz had a chance to win this game starting the 4th quarter down by just one point.. thing turned that quarter when the refs took over the game.. the Spurs had a 25-2 free throw advantage in the 4th quarter.. that is absolutely ridiculous
Face it, a better team beat you by keeping their head and pounding the rock time and again. We also stepped up the D a notch in the fourth and doubled Williams and occasionally Boozer to make the others beat us, and they couldn't.
Don't make excuses, take it like a man.
Oh, and you'll be back next year. It's a very solid team you've got there, and this series will give them invaluable seasoning and experience. You've got to remember that we've been in spots like this for most of the decade, while you guys are young.
Thanks, I thought so...judging by the pic, Manu and his brother look almost identical. Nice to see the families of the players going to games together.
jazzcrapslakis, I love the quality of your pix. What kind of camera do you use?
Wow, Eva is so into the game
i've got a Konica Minolta Dimage Z6.. i used to use a Z1, but loved it so much I upgraded to a Z6.. a SLR-like camera still within a reasonable price range (just less than $400 when i bought).. 6 megapixel, 12x optical zoom, the zoom helps much at games...
RuffnReadyOzStyle in response to your post.. you make a good point.. the spurs were driving to the basket and getting to the free throw line as they needed to in order to win the game.. i'm frustrated because the refs were giving EVERY call the way of the Spurs.. in situations where hardly any contact was made the Spurs would get a call, and the same thing on the other end the Jazz would be left empty... 25 free throws, compared to 2 free throws.. that's quite a big number..
throughout the entire game, the refs were giving more of the calls to the Spurs, leaving the Jazz with no calls.. 41 free throws to 20.. it's hard to win a game facing those numbers..
I think it was a timeout. Everyone is looking up at the jumbotron.
She's actually one of the loudest fans in the lower level of the AT&T Center![]()
time out nahhh probably just the last 2 minutes of the game!
Swing! . . . and a miss!
The one in purple's got a nice rack.
But you missed the most important point I made - you are not going to get FTs by shooting jumpers, and that's pretty much what your team did in the fourth and throughout the game, only they stopped falling in the fourth. This is actually Spur strategy - we will give you midrange Js but no 3s or layups, and if you can make them you will beat us. They stopped falling in the fourth when guys other than Deron and Carlos started to take them. That is a depth issue. You'll notice that by contrast, we try not to shoot jumpers with the game on the line, but the ones we do shoot are generally open corner 3s.
Yes, we got a lot of calls in the fourth, but the commentators were unanimous that they were earned and not flops or powderpuffs, and that from Breen and Jackson who are firmly anti-Spur. I think it also helped that we attacked the rim the entire game, even though we got few calls in the first half (Tony went to the rack 4 times in the first Q alone, no calls).
As Mike Breen said with 52.1 secs to go: "the Jazz can't blame the refs for this loss".
Thanks for the camera, info. Sounds pretty good. I'm thinking of getting one just like it.
As for the refs, I thought that at the beginning of the game, the calls were definitely going in favor of Jazz...there were some replays shown on ESPN that clearly show Okur fouling Duncan and no calls were called at all. Then there was Tony driving in, and no calls either, even when the contact was obvious. Yet Tony continued to be agressive, even without getting the calls during that time.
The game was definitely very physical throughout. And when Manu drove in the fourth quarter, he was defnitely being fouled constantly. So I don't see how the refs could not call such fouls.
Check out some pix:
Clearly a foul...the refs can't ignore such easy calls as this one.
And I guess this is good defense: No foul called...I believe...
Either way, I think the bottom line is that Jazz lost composure at the end...
Thats funny... I hardly ever hear her say anything... Tony's brother yells "ARE YOU SERIOUS!?" after every no call though... kind of funny...
I see her yelling all the time.
Jesus those pics of Okur and williams looks harder than I expected watching tv; Eva is always watching games ... that is very useful to distract opponents and keep focused our #9 boy.
