    I wanna ask.

cause I was just watching the changing numbers in the box score at night, how was spurs looking?

What about their screen rolls, were they done better then in game 3? Or Utah denided them as good as they were? And was those picks at the same spots or Pop decided to put them in other spot on the court?

    How about the ball movenment?
Barry was not playing and he is good in it. we had Findog there who shoots too much IMO and TP is not interested in moving the ball all the time.

Was the energy issue the most important thing in winning this game?

And how ugly was the game?

    Thanks for answering in advance.

    The game was completely ugly.

It was just a gritty win.

The kind of win that Championship teams need to have.

Parker/Bowen stepped up defensively in the 4th. Manu stepped up offensively in the 4th. But other than that, it was just an ugly, very rugged win.

It was intense, til 4q I was thinking Utah would have gone with a win, but later something extrange happened, in many ways Utah lost the behavior and then the game changed and Spurs shown their experience and Utah frustration.

But believe me, the Williams-Boozer combo will be improve and improve in years to come.

The difference was Manu's aggressiveness, Poland.
Manu went to the rim fearlessly and got hacked a bunch.
Manu converted on his free throws.
They got so mad about Manu getting to the line that they lost their composure and got a bunch of techs.

Jazz showed their youth and the Spurs showed their championship experience.

Manu played much better than in game 3, 16 points in the fourth.

I was kind of hard on Manu after the last game.
But his series against the Nuggets wasn't that good.
In the beginning of the series against Phoenix, he wasn't playing very good either.
However, games 5 and 6, Manu found his game in the phoenix series.

Games 1-3, Manu played okay. Game 4 Manu, like Tim, had a bad game.

This game, game 4, Manu's stats probably don't look that great, but he had fewer turnovers than game 3 and consistently lived at the free throw line in the fourth.

For this series, Manu is shooting about 50% and 47 % from 3.
He is averaging about 20 points/ game.
    Those are good numbers.

Forced shots and turnovers due to the pressure of playing without Tony and Tim have hurt Manu. Watching the game, and I may be completely wrong, it seemed like Manu played less time without Tim and Tony, than before.

We did a slightly better job of defending the screen rolls in the second half than we had earlier in the series and earlier in the game.
Sometimes doubling him worked him, sometimes it didn't.

Ball movement was not that great, not only due to the lack of assists (only 11), but you could see it.

Tony's stats are terrible, but I felt that he played much better than his numbers show.

I felt that the Spurs did not space the floor well and that this is the reason why Tim had so many turnovers again.

Finley's last couple of games haven't been that great, including this one, but he does have a bad back and he did hit an important 3 to stretch the lead and counter Utah's run.

I agree that energy was the reason we won. But so was composure. Energy was more important, of the two.

One way that we can see that is by looking at the rebounding. If I remember correctly, the Spurs won the rebound battle. Since the Jazz are such a great rebounding team, to do this in Utah is why we won.

We had fewer shot attempts than field goals and fewer shots than they did. They shot a higher percentage than we did. Put those together and the only way that you can pull out a victory is by hustle in the other team's gym.

Utah's offense in the fourth seemed to fall apart. Too many jumpshots, too many scared players.

As you know, we win a lot of ugly games.

I thought we did really well attacking the basket in the fourth. Manu got to the free throw line alot late and really sealed the deal. Jazz did not get to the free throw line because they were not aggresive going to the basket. The first three quarters were really hard fought and very close.
