I'd say perhaps Amare's block on Tim 2 years ago was pretty amazing, but it's subjective.
seriuosly, that was freaking awesome.
I had NEVER seen such an incredible block on Tim.
Simply Amazing.

I'd say perhaps Amare's block on Tim 2 years ago was pretty amazing, but it's subjective.
That's where TD's athleticism, or relative lack thereof, gets him. He doesn't really have the hangtime to change direction once he leaves his feet.
The Jazz made several great defensive plays on the Spurs when it seemed like an easy score was forthcoming.
Amare's a better jumper than Duncan, and Duncan had bad ankles. Boozer isn't a very good defender, and is smaller, and Duncan's feeling better. Boozer made an awesome play. If the Jazz had won the game that play would be remembered forever by Utah fans.
Boozer's block was probably the best defensive move he's made in this series. Most of the time, he's just hacking and throwing tomahawk chops.
It was a nice block, but TD had 5 blocks...so I will take 5 routine blocks over 1 spectacular block, any day.
Boozer doesn't usually hack, he usually steps out of the way. He's a poor defender and the block certainly shocked me.
it was a solid block, nothing great.
Duncan has been a block machine. when it comes to blocks, quan y > quality
duncan pretty much telegraphed that dunk...it was a great block by boozer.
would have liked to see timmy take that strong with 2 hands and try to break a wrist in the process
I also thought Duncan took off a lil too early as well. But hey, Ill take the W everytime.![]()
AK's block of Oberto was Oberto's fault. He should have taken another step and flushed it instead of that weak .
"I also thought Duncan took off a lil too early as well"
yep, I thought that too, just part of him being out of mostly all night.
but Duncan finished the play on the floor....that was pretty impressive to my eyes....he literally fall apart.
???????
Duncan was blocked by Amare twice a game every game in 2005, in fact, he was long long overdue this postseason to get owned by a younger center. All it does is fuel him to make his next shot (which he did). I was happy when he got blocked cuz I knew he'd refocus and play even harder the rest of the game.
I think one of the greatest blocks in recent memory is Ben Wallace on Shaq in the 06 playoffs. I'm gonna find it now...

Just imagine all the elements in place that resulted in the outcome of basically TKO'ing SHAQ!
Tim ate some. He owned it then got the victory last night. That's why he's a hard ass Hall of Famer. Nobody is perfect, but its how you respond to the plays that count. And he responded to the tune (no pun intended) of 3-1.
Duncan gets posterized now and then. It's bound to happen when he's mostly at the basket. He's not known to slam it down strong with two hands often, so he leaves himself open to those kind of blocks.
But he usually does recover quite nicely.
And the win is all that matters to him. Or to me.
I didn't find it too impressive, it was a stupid move on Tim. He should have just layed it up off the glass, it would have went untouched. Boozer was directly under the rim he wouldn't have reached a high banking lay-up. Besides, Tim can't jump.
Not impressed by the block.
^^ Add this to those points... not only did he take off too early, it was a roll to the basket, off a bounce pass, NO momentum at all to the basket. If he takes off with momentum, like running, he might go through Boozers hand. Get momentum and go strong with two hands, same thing. But this was like a skip hop to the basket. Come on. No power at all. That's usually time for a finger roll. That was dumb to try to dunk that one. Oh well, the W was the ultimate facial anyway.
Remember when Biedrins blocked Duncan like 3 straight times in the reg. season?
And G. Wallace's rejection when Duncan went for the dunk.
yeah......
