Big Props to Devin and Beno tonight with 16 points a piece.

I'd like to see the +/- on this game. It's gotta be big for Beno.

Devin has to be one of the top 5 raw athletes in the NBA. He has one of the strongest finishes in the open court of anyone. He was bashed and bumped a couple of times at full speed on the break, and still had the body control to finish. I really only saw them stop him once from attacking the hoop. It was in the half court, and they basicly knocked him down, which is exactly what he did with both FTs. Nice game, Dev.

They each had 16 points in 19 minutes. Great efficiency. And Beno added 4 assists, while Devin grabbed 4 boards along with 2 assists and a steal. It's awesome to see them developing. I know it's just one game, but we saw glimpses of great things from Beno today. *he just needs to stay healthy*

An argument can be made that Devin has been the best Spur at running the floor in transition this season. He's making a habit of hustling and running the wing.

Every time I looked at the play-by-play it was Devin Brown made lay-up or Devin Brown made dunk.

    I love it.

Devin Brown is the truth. Slow start to the season as he figured out his role. Now he's coming in aggressive and making things happen.

The way he absolutely attacks the basket on the break is a thing of beauty. He has no regards for anything other than scoring.

What were you saying about him, T Park? I think you owe Devin Brown an apology.

He also did a good job on D against Dirk late in the game.

Devin's problem this season will continue to be minutes. There are game when he will play less than five. And game like tonight when he gets nearly 20. He has to be able to keep a solid mindset to play the same no matter what minutes he gets. Eventually his time to shine will come.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Devin OWNED Dirk in the fourth quarter. I don't think Dirk hit more than one basket on him.

Devin may only be like 6-foot-4, but he can somehow guard the long threes.

    Speaking of Devin ...

Devin's dad has asked me to help him organize some sort of Devin Brown Fan Club for support to keep Devin in a Spurs uniform. Any suggestions on it would be appreciated.

Kori, Devin wants to stay, doesn't he? If he keeps this up, I think Pop rewards him with a Bowenesque contract for 3 years.

Speaking of attacking the rim, it blows my mind that in a league with arguably 1-2 shot blockers outside of Tim, why we don't continuously attack the rim at will.

See: Ginobili, Manu; Parker, Tony. Barry also attacks, but usually to kick it out to a shooter unless he's on the break.

The Spurs started out hitting some jumpers, then, like with all teams that do that, they fell in love with the jumpers until the Mavs came back. Then they started being more agressive again.

However, the ball movement was excellent all game, even when they hit their dry spells. That's a huge difference between this team and previous ones.

"the ball movement was excellent all game"

no, it was bad in the 3rd, didn't score, and let Mavs back into the game.

As an aside, did you guys notice Brown was the first SUB in the second half for Manu and NOT Brent Barry. Does it mean much? Or did Pop just on the spot feel Devin would matchup best since he can guard Dirk and the taller Mav 3's? Or was Barry just not up to par?

For the Spurs to be as good as they can be, they need Rose and Brown to supply the aggressiveness off the bench. Both of those players aren't afraid to go strong to the basket.

    P.S.

Speaking of attacking the rim, it blows my mind that in a league with arguably 1-2 shot blockers outside of Tim, why we don't continuously attack the rim at will.
That's the Spurs' gameplan and that's what they do when they're playing well. I don't know of another team that attacks the rim as much as the Spurs.

Pop probably liked the Brown vs. Dirk matchup.

In the fourth quarter, Brown held Dirk to 0-6 shooting.
