i think its a character issue, this sounds stereotypical but alot of the guys in the nba that have tats all over are thugs
Ive realized basically no Spurs have any tattoos, I know Duncan has two and I think Ely has a few but he doesnt even play.
In a league where tattoos are very common do you think its something that Spurs look at, or just completley coincidence.
I know that sounds dumb, but hey you never know, many people frown upon tattoos.

Cherokee Parks was the leader in tattoos. He was odd.
Pop always talks about how they look for players who would "make a good Spur". I guess players with tattoos don't normally "make a good Spur". Hey, it works, and if it aint broke, don't fix it!

I forgot about Cherokee...I think his sister had more tats than he did.
I used to work with (as a valet) Cherokee Parks' brother in law. They would go to local parks (after his retirement a few years back "for smoking too much weed," according to his brother in law) and Cherokee would just dominate everyone there.
Timmy has at least two plus a tongue stud.
No to tread on anyone's toes here... But if someone feels the need to cover (and disfigure) otherwise good skin with tats, then that person usually has issues.
Yeah, cause that is what tattoos are all about. Covering up and disfiguring yourself. I know that's why I've got mine.
I have nothign against tats.... I have 1.
but I have to agree that alot of the NBA players tats are excessive and thuggish. It's almost part of the uniform in some younger players minds... and that makes it a trend. Weak minds follow trends.

Duncan, Ely, JWhite have tattoos.
Sean Marks, Anthony Carter, Nazr, Parks, etc.
I dont want our boys looking like the rest of the thug ass NBA
