That was one of the greatest playoff games I've ever seen. I'm sorry that your team was on the losing end of it.
Do you think Ben Wallace would've made a difference?
I have been thinking this all off season last year, Detroit got lucky Lebron could not get it going last year and they snuck in to loose to the Heat. I think that Cleaveland is going to get real good, they are only a few good trades away from being the top team in the east for years to come. Who would want to be traded to a team with Lebron on it, I know if I am a free agent, I would seriously think about the Cavs! Lebron is going to start to bring in better players, East and West Watch Out!![]()
It sucks to be a Pistons fan right about now and I am. The Pistons just might wake up and take back the series and contend one more time...but what about next season, IS THERE AN ANSWER FOR LEBRON! The guy is still young and he is the best player I have ever saw, I was actually more entertained watching him than I was watching my own team, I have not felt that since the other guy from the East did that to the pistons, I think his name was M.J. .

I just do not know what to say about one of the best games ever played by anyone, I do not think anybody from any team could have done much against Labron Last night. I just hope he emptied himself and has no more to give, if he does we are toast!
I think Pistons should force the ball out of Lebron's hands.
Yes, it can be done.
As I said in another thread, the Pistons just don't look like the Pistons on Defense. I think not having Big Ben to defend the goal has really hurt them more than they thought it would.
I agree.
Do the Pistons really need an answer for him? I say no, when they execute well on the offensive end and get their shots to fall It shouldnt matter whether LJ drops 20 or 40 on them. A main reason why they struggled was the non-consistent performance of some of their key players.
There was a more spectacular play LeBron made last year flashy wise..Rasheed Wallace was guard him on the perimeter, he drove passed him, muscled through and split the double team of Hamilton and Prince at once, and then dunked RIGHT ON BEN WALLACE. That was probably his best play..and Ben Wallace was involved too.
As far as drama and the close games, this series will go down as one of the greatest of all time. That is not hyperbole either.
I know some will argue this but He is just going to get better, if the Cavs get better players, they could dominate the whole league in a few years.
"That was one of the greatest playoff games I've ever seen."
A historic, individual playoff performance, yes.
But 1-on-5 is sucky basketball, not a "greatest playoff GAME".
The Pistons played like , and the Cavs didn't do much better, apart from James.
James won't win 4 games vs Spurs ALL BY HIMSELF.
Spurs fans have gotten James' stars in their eyes if they think James can beat the Spurs 4 times, including 2 or 3 in SA.
I couldn't believe the Pistons' help defense. There was none. No one rotating over, no one contesting the blow-bys, whether to take a charge, commit a foul, or what.
It was almost as if zone wasn't the best choice...
Look at it this way,had Chauncey driven to the net on that last possession in regulation we are up 3-2 right now and none of that Lebron heroics wouldve happened. This series is more about the once clutch pistons simply not hitting those shots they used to make
But they signed Nazr Mohammed! Hes even taller than Ben!![]()
And that will be the NBA script. The up and comer Cavs trying to scale the mountain of the evil Spurs Empire.
Just like Jordan did, he will make a few failed trips to the mountain early but the drama of the rising LeBron Empire and the gradual fading of the Spurs/Duncan empire will drive the NBA hype to the end of this decade.
And no perimeter traps early in the clock before LeBron went into his moves...no attempt at all to make him give up the ball even when Brown had his defensive specialists in and no other offensive threats on the floor.
Awful defense.
I think it should not have been get the clutch shot or win, they have had too meny games like that. They never really had a comfortable lead in the series.
I think we are seeing the end of the Pistons era as well.
"
It don't matter who the opponent is. LeBron = RATINGS; like MJ, like Tiger.
At least we won't hear about the Spurs bad ratings numbers; they might even pick up some fans, or more people who hate them, and will tune in just to see if they lose in the future.
Chauncey, Rip, Tayshaun shot 35% at home in pivotal Game5 of a tied series, plus the horrible defense. I don't know that it's the end of the Pistons run, but that was not Championship basketball on either end of the court.
Only for Lebron
You guys need to get rid of Flip and get a REAL coach. He did nothing in Minn and took over a tough Detroit squad that can't finish anymore. Losing Ben Wallace hurt for sure, but they should have repalced the coach at the same time.
The pistons have never been an offensive juggernaut, they simply dont have the offensive talent. We won with our defense but since that has fallen off,well...look at the results.
I said they would rue the day they did that signing.
