Ex-Jayhawk to play for Spurs: Former KU point guard Aaron Miles will play with the San Antonio Spurs summer league team in both Las Vegas and Salt Lake City this summer, his agent, Chris Emens, said Thursday.
Interesting. I didn't know the Spurs were going to play at Salt Lake City too.
He is like a poor man's Iverson on defense. Now all we gotta do is hope Spurs sign him, ship him overseas, get him injured, then try to bring him back as a bench player by the time he's 30.
I think spurs maybe playing at both looking at younger guys to join the team
rookies
or waint to see ian more
spurs a bit behind the chump curve.
Seems logical, he was Ian's (and Melvin Sanders for that matter) teammate this season and they won the French Cup. I thought he was ok at KU...was pretty much a Jordan Brand walking advertisement. Having a PG who knows how to work with Ian could be nice to see how far hes come since last summer.
god i hope we bring in some fresh blood on this team one way or another next season
i bet even the spurs game announcer would sound awesome if we have a young up and comer dunk over someone or, , even on a fast break.
aaron miles is a good point guard.
ty infielder but a good point guard
Hope the Spurs can hold onto this one.
Yeah, this team just ain't no damn good.
wat are his measurements?? previous stats??
That's never going to happen. I suggest looking for a new team.
First a funny stat : Miles is KU all time assist leader. The second on the list is Jacque Vaughn.
He was playing in France this year with Pau that was a little Spurs euro dleague team.
His euroleague stats :

Measurement (2005 pre draft camp) :
Height without shoes : 6' 0"
Height with shoes : 6' 1½"
Weight : 174.6 lbs
Wingspan : 6' 3½"
Standing reach : 7' 10"

Hmmm . . . I wonder if this means the Spurs aren't thinking about drafting a point guard. Aaron Miles could be the young point guard they bring in instead of drafting one. He's 24 so he's not that much older than a draft pick.
I think Miles would be a pretty nice third point guard with the ability to push Vaughn for the backup spot.
Aaron Miles did decent with the Warriors.
It may be significant that he's been invited to both teams, but it may also just be a hedge against the historically poor point guard play of the Spurs' summer leagues squads the past couple of years.
How soon would this guy be able to contribute if he were signed for next season? Would he be able to legitimately contend for the backup role, or is that more or less a long-shot?
Any chance that we sign both Miles and Chucky Atkins (one or two year deal) and not resign Vaughn?
Miles is a good kid, he used to light it up on the playground here in Portland. There's going to be a few spots open this upcoming year (Beno and Barry are most likely gone)
Hedge against not finding the PG they might be looking for. It's just prudence. Weren't they talking about bringing back Alex Garcia, too?
I think Alex Garcia was mentioned by Grande Dave as he is playing down there and Dave was saying the Spurs need to bring him back.
I have been huge jayhawk fan for a very long time and miles is a younger version of vaughn. He needs to work on his JS, plays solid D, and is a hard nosed player. Him playing in front of Vaughn will only make him play harder. He can be legit back up pg in the NBA..
What about beno![]()
