a Spurs in 5 or 6 doesn't hurt either...
Larry Hughes who was huge for the Cavs in the 2 reg season wins has been GARBAGE since his injury in Gm3, he's put up 2pts, 9pts, and 9pts. The Cavs wins against the Spurs he had 18pts in each win. SMH @ the thought of the Spurs letting Gibson being as effective that in this series, or letting him get a wide open 3 shot.
The two Spurs loses were in November and January, when the Spurs were playing there worst ball in maybe 4-5 years. the Spurs didn't start playing well untill the middle of Feb
There should not even be a close game in this series with the way Manu/Parker/Duncan are playing. With Finely hitting the open 3's and the way he's been playing these games should be over by the 3rd qt. Unlike the Pistons we have 3pt shooters in Fin, Barry, Horry, Bowen, so the Cavs just playing zone won't cut it.
a Spurs in 5 or 6 doesn't hurt either...
also expect MAJOR foul trouble for whoever tries to guard Duncan, Gooden or Z or Varadjo
and with the way Manu and Parker attack the rim, they will be fouling like crazy
4-1 is reasonable, where one game in Cleveland is like the loss to Jazz. It just won't be the Spurs' night, and it will be the Cavs' night.
The negative about 4-1 is that Spurs would close out in Cleveland, rather than @ATT.
4-2 worst case, where a close game is won by James going nutz in crunch time. Advantage of 4-2 is that Spurs close out @ATT.
And you are a shame to humanity...
The Spurs won't sweep the Cavs.
The better question would be, who is going to stop LeBron?
Bowen??
LOL![]()
wow, i would be happy to see spurs in 6...i'm not worried about a sweep. Keep in mind MANY cavs fans think the CAVS will sweep.
Anything is possible
Never assume a sweep. This series should go 5-6 games.
I just hope the Spurs remember how to play after this early vacation.
Cavs : Lebron James + one of the worst backcourt in the nba + average bigmen.
If Spurs don't win in 6 games or less, I will be really disapointed.
That's not really a question for the Spurs. You can't and won't stop Lebron, but you can make him work and stay at home on the other guys. I don't care if LeBron avgs 37pts a game (ala Amare) as long as the other guys are kept in check. That's the way the Spurs play. LeBron is a superstar almost in the same class as Jordan, but he can't win it alone. Jordan's Bulls proved that.
You don't "stop" Lebron is the simple answer.. You limit him. You make him make decisions. And you cover up the other shooters.
You give him nothing easy. Hard fouls if he tries to drive. Make him earn points at the stripe.
You trap and harass the out of him. You get the ball out of his hands.
And then most of all......You put up more points than the Cavs do.
Don't say that one loss to Cleveland is like a loss to the Jazz.
You'll see, the Cavs are TERRIBLY inferior to the Jazz.
Spurs will sweep. Please. Hold 'Bron to 10 total points. Please. I can't take MJ comparisons all summer.
Yeah I want to see this thread bumped by Spurs fans who are disappointed if we win the Finals in the 5th or 6th game. Shame my ass.
People who start sweep thread always come off looking like dumbasses.
People say who will stop Lebron? anwser no one
but you need need to flip it:
who will stop Manu?
who will stop Duncan?
who will stop Parker?
who will stop the Spurs 3pt shooters?
the Spurs should be celebrating in Cleveland, 2 Thursdays from now
So true.
this thread pisses me off
and people think Jazz weren't MUCH better then the Cavs?
Derron got his every game result: 4-1
people think the Cavs are better then the Suns? LMAO
Amare got his every game result: 4-2
Talking about sweeps is bull ! The refs will make sure this thing goes 6! Do you really think the Spurs will be able to lay a hand on LeBroad all series? no! This little went to the line 20 times last night! Lets just hope the Spurs win this en thing period!
don't cry about refs
how many times do you think Manu, Parker, and Duncan will go to the line?
they will be setting up tents on the FT line
I just want the Spurs to win their fourth championship this year. My nerves hope its before seven games, but a championship is a championship. Cavs trolls make me laugh. I wonder if these guys are actually Browns fans as well.![]()
If the Cavs won this series the NBA conspiracy buffs would go INSANE !!
Something would have to go terribly wrong for the Spurs to lose this series. The bad news is, sometimes things go terribly wrong. ( think Dallas, game 7 )
The fact that Cleveland is a professional basketball team and has made it the Finals means they can win, bottom line. The Spurs will respect this fact and not take them for granted. I'm sure of this. That's why I'm confident the Spurs will win this series and take home their fourth. San Antonio's experience, Big Three, home court advantage, decades long tough playoff game road experience, coaching, Tim Duncan, you name it...the Spurs should get the job done.
