I'd love him here.
Link.Backup Antonio McDyess was devastated. Words caught in his throat as he acknowledged his last best chance for a championship might have evaporated.
"I feel like I'm at the end of my career and it just ain't gonna happen," said McDyess, 32, who has a contract option to return. "Tonight, I accepted that I'm never gonna win. I felt this team was the one to get us there. We had all the chances in the world and we blew it. It seems like it's over for me now."
He has a player option for over $6M next season, which it's hard to imagine he walks away from, but he'd be an incredible pick-up for the Spurs in the offseason.
It might ruin any 'Plan 2008' ideas, but would you give him $3M per for 2 years? He'd recoup his option and could flee a disintegrating team. While he didn't have the best playoffs, McDyess is still a terrific player with a great at ude who is desperate for a championship. Shades of Jerome Kersey.
What thoughts?
Dice is pure class, and still has lots of game. I'm hopeful the Pistons resign him, but if we don't, I think SA would be a perfect place for him.
I wouldn't be mad if you all got him. He desperately wants a ring, and would obviously stand a good chance of getting it w/ the Spurs.
ing-A
With any luck, he opts out and signs with the Spurs. You guys would have B2B with ease. Dyess is the man. All sorts of game.
Another roughian, and flagrant foul artist that would fit right in with you guys.
I traded brent and oberto for him in my 2k7 season.
How did you stain, backwater mistakes even find this forum?
Has your team ever even played a Western conference team in the playoffs?
Man, youre going to disappear in3 games anyway, so why delay the inevitable and just GTFO now?
I think roughian is supposed to be 'ruffian'.
Vareflop's soooo gonna get exposed.
And Antonio McDyess is one of the classiest guys in the league - get an education before you start talking .
I like him, but he sounds pretty overdramatic... He's only 32 years old, he can still play another 5 or 6 years easy.
This reminds me of when I hear 25 year olds giving up on ever finding someone to marry...
No Way
He´s a PF, why we can sign a PF, if we want a TD Backup, sign Scola, who is better than McDyess
I don't think that's very accurate. As it is now, he's fairly limited to 25 minutes a game.
If there's one Piston who totally deserves a ring, it's Dice. Nobody in the past two years has brought more heart and desire to the court. I would hate to see him leave, but I don't think we'll be aiming for a le next year, I think we'll be retooling for the long haul, so if he wants to go someplace with a better shot at a le, Dumars should grease the skids for him in any way possible.
SA would be an obvious choice and he'd be a good fit, but if that were to happen.....
....you fargin' bas ches goddamn BETTER get him a ring.
The epitome of Classy.

Don't be a pussy.
3rd time in Phoenix the Charm??
McDyess would actually fit pretty nicely with the Spurs, assuming the Spurs could resolve their abundance of 4's and 5's heading into next season. He's an almost perfect fit if Horry decides to retire (though, of late, Rob sounds like he's wanting to do it again). He'd bring the sort of toughness and rebounding next to Duncan that the Spurs have really lacked of late. Plus, he can be an absolute witch playing side pick and rolls with a good point guard.
I somehow doubt it would happen -- and now really isn't the time for discussing next season -- but this strikes me as a pretty solid idea.
Well his minutes would certainly be fewer towards the end, but I think he could get a "Kevin Willis Job" (veteran big man off the bench) with a lot of teams.
scola is an unknown because he never plays in the nba
and not sure if scola and spurs would get along
McDyess does two things better than Scola: rebound, play defense.
He also does not need to play the post.
Plus, if you sign McDyess, you can still trade away Scola's rights.
Antonio would fit really well in San Antonio. He could also replace some of the offense when Duncan is resting on the pine.
Scola in the FIBA´s world is so far better than Oberto
He played vs Duncan, vs Jermaine, vs Big Ben and Always had great games
I would love to have McDyess. But I don't think you bring him in unless Horry walks. What are the chances that Horry actually walks away after this season? He says he wants to stay...but winning a championship is always a nice way to go out (even if it is his 574th one).
I hope scola if a spur plays extremely well
one consern is his rebounding
the other concern is spurs and his relationship
