3 (and most important)--be sure to click the box that calls for "completed" auctions only.

This way--you can read the history of all spurs tickets wherein the auctions have ended.

You will find scores of sellers who could not sell their tickets at inflated prices.

Compare them to prices where tickets were actually sold.

This gives you leverage to bargain with sellers--make them offers and tell them that other sellers who sought inflated prices were unsuccessful.

Wow, I've had very good luck buying tickets on E-bay, but your tips will really come in handy, thanks! I have always been sceptical of getting tickets on the street because of counterfeits, but are you familiar with how prevalent that actually is? Does anybody here know of someone who has gotten ripped off like that?

There is always a risk of that.

Really have not heard of that occurring to the scalpers out in scalping territory--most are there for every game.

Still--you are right--buyer beware--usually if a price seems too good, you should be su ious.

The only thing about the low ticket prices is that you usually miss the first and perhaps even a part of the second quarter. To get the great deal--you have to wait out everyone else and watch the scalpers go crazy when the game starts and they still have tickets on their hands.

Then they are begging for nearby buyers to take their inventory off their hands.

But will this be a problem at the Finals (scalpers being stuck with tix after game start)? Seems a risky strategy esp. with the LeHype coming to town. Another "last day" strategy is to check ticketmaster/spurs.com for tix that might be released on game day. It happens.

Re counterfeits ...
(1) look for sellers with high reputation scores. I would NOT buy a Finals ticket from someone with a low score or significant negative feedback.
(2) Consider ticketfast tickets, which are sent via email.

THat is true.

SOmething else that I have noticed.

The tickets on Stubhub have been dropping the last day or so.

I would suggest that buyers wait until Thursday afternoon around 3 pm. I bet the Stubhub sellers will slash the prices to tickets after that.
