well now we know it wasn't a wild hog, that'd be weird as running into one of those in the woods.
FARMERS: 'MONSTER PIG' NOT A WILD HOG, BUT WAS THEIR PET PIG 'FRED'
Obtuse hicks shoot a grossly overweight PET....The obese hog out runs the senseless killers for three hours.....![]()

I always thought wild game hunting was more humane, it sounds like this pig really suffered
Hog hunting isn;t very humane. I don't think I have ever been on a single hog hunt that did not involve a pack of dogs and a long chase.
And you have to be carefull, because even if you have 2 or 3 shots into one of those large suckers they will still turn and charge you like a shotgun ain;t nothing but a pellet gun. Thats where well trained dogs really earn thier keep. A good mix of american bull dog and some catahoula or cow dog mutt comes in handy. Maybe a little black mouth curr thrown ion the blood lines. And you gotta get them in a training pen with piglets byt 4 or 5 months old too... otherwise that hog'll be taking down your dogs and not the other way around.
How else do you expect to kill an animal so ing big?
Has anybody asked the really important question: Where is my bacon?
That was not hunting.
That was a domestic pig shooting. I hunt real wild hogs with my bow and I was totally disgusted with that whole story/setup. I took one look at that pig when the story first broke and knew it was a pen raised hog.
I was hoping at best it was part domestic part wild. I guess we need to organize a hunt for the kid and his parents.
This was no 300 lb agile wild hog...This was somebody’s aging pet that was fed by hand & stood still while given baths with the garden hose......It suffered from obesity...Fred's legs had trouble supporting his enormous weight...Yet he was shot repeatedly trying to flee from these mighty hunters and Fred still managed to out run them for three hours...
These folks seriously ought to lay off the moonshine & take up jogging...
I will give the kid a little credit though. It takes balls to pull the trigger on a .50 caliber pistol 16 times. Those things kick like a mule on steroids. That little fat er was probably closing his eyes and jerking/flinching every shot which explains how he could miss a pig as big as a volkswagon 10+ times.
Can you imagine the size of the pork chops?
I'd want sausage.... I think they said they were going to process the whole thing as sausage.
