    If here were a free agent and decided to take a drastic pay cut in order to join up, I'd have no problem with him returning

    I'm not sure Pop would agree with you. Malik allegedly admitted to him in his 2004 exit interview that he was dogging it and breaking plays on purpose. Supposedly they cleared the air, but he was traded in the middle of the next season.
