It's now time for Duncan to shine

On the NBA's biggest stage, San Antonio's Tim Duncan has played the role of MVP to perfection. The San Antonio Spurs aren't novices when it comes to the business of the NBA Finals. If they can turn back LeBron James and the Cavaliers, they will claim their fourth championship in nine years. At the center of San Antonio's success is Tim Duncan, a two-time league MVP, three-time NBA Finals MVP, nine-time All-Star and nine-time All-NBA first-team selection. It is on the game's biggest stage that Duncan has made his reputation. Here is a look at his classic NBA Finals performances:
1999: Spurs over Knicks in five
Game 1: In the first Finals game of his career, Duncan, in his second year in the league, scores 33 points and grabs 16 rebounds in an 89-77 Spurs victory. At one point in the second half, Duncan scores 14 of 15 Spurs points.
Game 4: Duncan, on his way to averaging 27.4 points, 14.0 rebounds, 2.2 blocks, and 2.4 assists in the series, records 28 points and 18 rebounds to help the Spurs win 96-89 and take a commanding 3-1 series lead.
2003: Spurs over Nets in six
Game 1: Playing arguably the best basketball of his career, Duncan simply overpowers the Nets in a 101-89 victory, recording 32 points, 20 rebounds, seven blocks and six assists.
Game 5: Keeping the Nets' big men in constant foul trouble, Duncan goes for 29 points, 17 rebounds and four blocks as the Spurs roll 93-83.
Game 6: With the Spurs looking to close out the series, Duncan responds with one of the greatest performances in Finals history: 21 points, 20 rebounds, 10 assists and a Finals record-tying eight blocks in an 88-77 win.
2005: Spurs over Pistons in seven
Game 5: Hampered by foot and leg injuries, Duncan rises to the occasion to have his best game of the series with 26 points and 19 rebounds as the Spurs take a 3-2 series lead with a 96-95 (OT) victory.
Game 7: Duncan doesn't have his best shooting game, going 10-of-27 from the floor, but it's his relentless play at both ends of the court that drives the Spurs to an 81-74 win. Duncan finishes the game with 25 points, 11 rebounds and a third championship.
When all is said and done, Duncan will have a far more distinguished career than lebron. Thats a fact!
