FWIW Cavs are 0-19 all time in road Game 1s.
Dan Patrick, on his show, said he spoke to a Cavs insider and said it's already in the books! This bravado seems ill-placed to me. Apparently, they are taking a lot of stock in the two wins this year, and feel they can duplicate their success.
The Spurs will be rusty. But the Cavs have been off 5 days! won't they be rusty too!?
FWIW Cavs are 0-19 all time in road Game 1s.
Unless Pop gives us 25 minutes of Bonner and 15 or so of Udrih...
Did he use the words "shock the world"?
its stats like these that scare me, because when they are brought up, the streak usually ends. like how the jazz were undefeated against San Antonio in the playoffs all time something like 18-0 and then we ended that.
That's hard to believe. I agree that it's ill-placed.
As for the rust, I expect both teams to be a little rusty in the beginning.
if this happens, then the game is LONG over with a spurs up 40.
The Jazz losing streak in San Antonio remained intact.
It has something to do with which team is better.
For a Cavs insider to be calling Game 1 "a lock" does not bode well for them. That is a prelude to a butt-whooping on the road.
You are a joke. I would be suprised if either team gets a lead bigger than 10-15 points the entire series.
You are an idiot. The poster said that the ONLY way we see those kind of minutes for those particular players is IF we were up 40...they never said we WOULD be up 40.
i think the spurs will be on a mission to send a message about the season sweep by the cavs. i don't expect a blowout but i think the well-oiled machine that is the spurs will get the win. while lebron is a beast, the rest of his team doesn't scare me at all. boobie won't get those open 3's this series.
Laughable. People are going to realize quickly how much better we are than the Cavs.
These team insiders sure are good at stirring the pot!
After all, it was a Laker "insider" who broke the news last week that Kobe wanted to be traded and started that whole whirlwind of drama and nonsense.
Actually, it was an old black guy with grizzled white facial hair. He was talking about "playahatas and elevatas" too. He seemed a little out of it.
Let's see what a Cavs offense that is horrible does when they get behind by 15+ to the Spurs, which is going to happen several times in this series. The Spurs are up there with the Suns in offensive runs that gain leads, and the Cavs haven't seen anything like it.
I think we may see the run and gun Spurs akin to game 5 vs Utah in this series. The Spurs are very capable of it, especially if Z is on the floor.
Thats's how I want this game to start tonight. A repeat of 1st quarter, game 5 WCF.
I'm hopeing the guys have kept sharp and kept the rust off by some good practice sessions.
It would be great to watch them put up about 34 in the first while Cleveland is plodding along and puts up under 20.
Considering the players the Jazz had back when the streak started compared to the ones they have now that's a no brainer. The Cavs being weak in Game 1 is a streak more likely to continue.
I guess they'll expect the Spurs to leave Gibson wide open beyond the arc and throw one of the least effective triple teams in NBA history at James.
Someone should ask the Cavs insider how that worked out tonite.
I believe it was 18 tonight... lets see if they can push it to 20. lets go for 25. If they don't shoot like crap for 1 quarter and a half we would have had it tonight.
Cavs just seem out of place. With Durant and Oden joining the West it'll probably continue to be this way for the Eastern Conference champ for the next few seasons.
Hey asshole, we got up to a 18 pt lead, and thats because we were rusty.
