No. If a player is on a roster at any point in time during his rookie season, it counts as a season for classification purposes. The Spurs official roster lists Devin as having 2 years of experience. I'd go with that.
requirement to be a rookie? Baseball does. That is why a player can win Rookie of the Year even though he may have been a September callup the previous year. The reason why I ask is, ESPN has Devin Brown as a "second-year" player this year even though he played 10 games in the NBA in 2002-03. If the NBA counts him as in his second year....wouldn't Brown be eligible for the Rookie-Sop re game this season?

I don't think there is any correlation to baseball's rookie requirements.

This is actually Devin's 3rd season. He played with SA and Dever (10 games) in 2002-03.
