    An emailer once wrote into the Sports Guy on ESPN.com to finally come up with a reason for Gooden's haircut.

    The reader noticed that Rasheed and Gooden had been talking back and forth throughout the series. He then came up with the theory that Rasheed lost his patch of hair in a contest between he and Gooden, and he was upset about it because Gooden was wearing it as a badge of honor.
