but those in commercials for the finals rock![]()
Maybe we're looking at this wrong.
Maybe the viewers suck at viewing.
I've been saying that for a while. They wait until something great happens and then claim they were watching it the next day when they hear about it on TV. Maybe Nike should change the saying to "We are all witnesses after the fact."
post of the month
No, I'm fairly certain ABC just has a ty presentation.
ABC's presentation is not the problem it is the games that are on TNT and ESPN that are the problem. If ABC tied in all their games like NBC did with their primetime shows years ago the ratings would be much bigger. Instead you have TNT and ESPN doing big games that a lot of people are not even aware are on.
No Im pretty sure that TNT >>>>>> ABCMaybe we're looking at this wrong.
Maybe the viewers suck at viewing
on game presentation.
That is, if Doug Collins is left out of it.
What happened to Bill Walton? Does he work for TNT? I know some of you really dislike him, but ABC/ESPN could use someone, ANYONE that's actually enthusiastic about the NBA.
They actually are but nobody knows those games are on because it is not a major network.
Marv Albert and Doug Collins should be doing the games they are the best play by play and color people in the business. How did ABC not sign Marv on when they took this thing over a few years ago?
Van Gundy is freaking funny as !!!
And yes, those commercials are bad ass.
Walton did the games for ESPN earlier, and I have no idea why he isn't still doing them. I think that him and Jeff Van Gundy would be absolutely a great tandem with either Breen or Albert. Both of those guys have tremendous knowledge and passion for the game, and most of their comments are entertaining and insightful (unlike that POS Jon Barry).
are the commercials online anywhere, like they used to have the old Trophy commercials?

im just talkin about the advertising for game 2 ones, that are in black and white.
The background music combined just seems to make it really cool thats all![]()
He alone is worth the price of admission. I am always saddened when he and Fratello gets coaching gigs, because those two are great great analysts, and they are as you say funny as . Mark Jackson is a great guy IMO, and I like him as well. He and Reggie going at it on Dan Patrick is always one of the best acts on radio.
PS
Look at the bright side, at least we do not have to listen to Brent Musburger
god it was terrible to keep hearing mark jackson .. keep saying that lebron was keeping tony in check.... eh excuse me parker got 27 points... thats really keeping the man check there.. mark
Trophy love.
TP: "Where am from, love is about passion and passion is about love"
Manu: "In Argentina, love has no beginning and no end. It's like stars in the night sky.
TP: "Well in France, it's like a 1000 burning arrows in the heart"
Manu: "Ah no, it's like stars in the night sky"
TP: "Manu??"
Manu: "Tony??"
Yea I'm pretty much liking him. But I prefer ANYONE to the cadaver Hubie Brown; he really creeps me out.
That one year where he went on and on about Manu flopping was enough Brent for me. He thought he was a guest analyst.
I absolutly hate the moving camera angle. Mabye I'm old fashioned, but you can't follow the game at all when they switch to that garbage. I wish they would stop trying to be so innovative and show the game.
They also need to stop sucking the s of the following players and people:
Lebron James - he is good but not worth talking about for 56 minutes of a 48 minute broadcast
Tony Parker- who gives a he is marrying Eva Longoria? If her show wasn't ABC's highest rated show they wouldn't show that on T.V. 6 times a game. Not that she isn't easy on the eyes, but it just goes to show that if you play pro basketball you can get any girl you want, becuase lets be honest, Tony Parker isn't exactly an oil painting;but he talks like he should be painting them.
Sasha Pavlavic - the national broadcasters love this guy; that might be becuase he only shows up for games on national TV. Like most Cavs fans will attest, he is a decent role player, but Mark Jackson calling his reverse layup like it's 1991 Jordan against the Lakers is ridiculous.
Eric Snow - Yeah he provides leadership, but he does it from the bench. He sits on the bench for a reason, and yeah, he may be the only Cavs player to make it to the finals, but I don't think he has hit a outside shot since.
Eva Longoria- did I mention her? Well, there is a reason when they show her on TV there is never anyone she knows sitting next to her-- it's becuase she is a money grubbing who only latched on to Tony Parker for one(or all) of the following reasons a)she knows he will be on national TV so she can get free pub. just by going to the game, b) she knows her fame is going to last about as long as Kid Rock's unless she legitimizes it by marrying someone who will be famous for awhile (see the aformentioned Kid Rock) c) ABC payed her to marry Tony Parker so they could plug her show during NBA broadcasts. There are probably more that I'm missing.
But those are my gripes for ABC.
I agree with most of that, strangely enough we're annoyed by the same things. Only thing I don't agree with is the money grubbing part. I just don't know her well enough or hear enough from her about it to think that's her angle.
Besides she got with him early on when he was fading in the finals still, certainly no stone cold lock on a moneymaker player. I think she just likes younger men, no harm no foul.
Those commercials are bad ass. They get me pumped for the next game.
