I really hope he becomes a consistent 2nd scorer the cavs need. I think he will with gaining confidence in himself these playoffs so far and work in the off-season.
Wife and i were talking about this the other night. Is Daniel Gibson the real deal? or just riding some hot streak?
It seems like the kid cant miss, and is getting to the lane and finishing ala tony parker style at times.
whats your take on boobie?
I really hope he becomes a consistent 2nd scorer the cavs need. I think he will with gaining confidence in himself these playoffs so far and work in the off-season.
He seems to be getting it done in these playoffs even moreso than lebron. I am truly impressed with him. I thought he was just a fluke in the detroit series...but he really hasnt let up, i dont think ive seen him miss an open shot.
Well, he is certainly zoned in from 3 point territory.
But unlike Tony, I don't think Boobie can take very many licks trying to drive the lane. A couple of really hard fouls and you'll see him revert to a jump shooter.
I think he is having a very good series, but one series is not going to make him another Tony Parker.
I think he has the skills to be a great player in the NBA. He just needs to work on his D.
his defense is pathetic and he does not handle the ball well. he got a decent shot though
He is a defensive liability with a decent shot... If he stays in the eastern conference, then he may have a career.
Gibson is the "2002 playoffs Mike Bibby" of the 2007 playoffs: Hot streak going, good shooting, but we won't even remember his name next year...Sorry Cleveland, but you shouldn't even be in the Finals.
Good, consistent shot, horrible defender... what else is there to say?
Every single time Boobie puts up a shot I say "count it"....and dammit, it goes in.![]()
The kid has been amazing so far, at least on the offensive end. He can't seem to miss. Did he steal some of Manu's magnets?
real deal, that kid can play.
I don't see why Boobie is getting the "bad defense" rap. I know he's had some lapses, but he has shown good intensity on pressure defense and even come up with a few steals. Granted, giving up a 4-point play in the waning moments of the 4th quarter doesn't endear you to your coach, but he's still a young and developing player.
Offensively, he's ALWAYS been this good. He slipped to the second round because he couldn't be the distributor and leader at UT that they expected him to be. In Cleveland those shoes are filled, so he can just relax and do what he does best...score.
more like smush parker on a contract year....
He's actually a pretty good defender... Tony only scored twice on him in game 1, and only 3 times last night.. Gibson has active hands and has ripped the Spurs a couple times on steals..
He's not a physical defender by any means, but he's certainly not a bad one....
I think hes a great outside shooter, but rather or not this is him being good, or a hot streak has yet to be scene. Ask again next season.
Well, Boobie as a starter appearantly wasn't the answer the Cavs were looking for! Dude went 1-10 shooting last night and 0-5 from downtown. He had an amazing stat line of 2 pts, 3 reb, 3 asst in 36 minutes...WOW![]()
Since Boobs was in the starting lineup, he got covered by the first string and as a result had few good looks. He can hit the open J but struggles in coverage.
He's got plenty of potential!!!
Manu Ginobli: 3pts, 5 rbs, 5 asst, 3 TOs, 0 stl in 27 minutes. 0/7 shooting, including 0/3 from downtown. WOW![]()
Ginobli is a MUCH better player than Gibson on both ends of the court, not to mention that he has years of experience over the 21yr old Gibson.
