on a related note. I was watching some espn classic finals games from the late 80's and early 90's...it is amazing what they call fouls now, compared to back then.
for instance if you went up for a shot and "broke the plane of verticality into the defender" it wasnt a defensive foul. Now...it is very common place for shooters to lean into the defender to draw the foul.
some of the screens and what not would be considered "dirty basketball" now, but everyone was doing it back then.
makes all the kleenex fans look that much more ish...although most of them were probably still infants in the late 80's early 90's. I did manage to record the spurs v knicks 99 game where the spurs won it all.
ill keep that on my dvr for a while.
