In all seriousness though, along with Fin, Id like to keep Oberto, after seeing him perfrom in these playoffs.

Id bet on if anyone wants them, Barry Beno being gone.

I think if anyone wants him, elson is gone.

There won't be ALOT of turnover.

I think White and Butler are integrated more.

If they sign a Pietrus or Nocioni then who knows.

Its way too early to say right now.

Alot I think of how the roster shapes up, we will see how after the draft.

Oberto has a player option and might get offers above the $3M he is scheduled to earn next year. I hope we keep him too b/c he is "getting it" after a couple of years now.

Doesn't Fin have a player option as well? I don't see him leaving the team, especially since he's got a bigger role here and is still picking up a hefty paycheck from Cuban.

    2008 contracts

    Tim Duncan $19,014,187 (to 2010)
    Tony Parker $10,500,000 (to 2011)
    Emanuel Ginobili $9,075,000 (to 2010)
    Brent Barry $5,554,370 (last)
Bruce Bowen $4,125,000 (last) TEAM Option
    Robert Horry $3,630,000 (last)
    Francisco Elson $3,000,000 (last)
Michael Finley $3,103,000 (last) PLAYER Option
Fabricio Oberto $2,500,000 (last) PLAYER Option
    Jackie Butler $2,376,000 ($2,552,000 in 09)
    Beno Udrih $1,747,095 ($2,603,172 qual in 09)
    James White $427,163

Finley is still being paid $18,593,750 by Cuban next year.

Officially, Melvin Ely, Matt Bonner, Jacque Vaughn, Rich Melzer and Jamar Smith all drop off the books.

Right now, total payroll on the books is $60,926,815.

There is no reason I see for Bruce's option NOT to be picked up, unless they both agree to restructure for a couple extra years. After his perfomance in the playoffs I would say that's a good bet.

I would fully expect Fin to pick up his PO and possible ask to be extended, but I'm not sure about Fab. His play in the WCF and Finals has made him very marketable. He may also opt out for an extension.

I see us trying to resign Vaughn if we can keep him at his rock bottom vet min price range. I don't see us signing Ely or Bonner.

As always, the 2 biggest contracts we are trying to ditch are Barry and Beno. I doubt either gets moved, however Barry certainly showed last night that he can be a contributor.

If I had to guess, I would say we keep:
    Finley (exercises player option)
    Oberto (exercises player option)
    Vaughn (re-sign cheap)
Bowen (obviously pick up the team option)

    Lose:
    Ely (FA)
    Bonner (FA)
    Beno (trade)
    Barry (trade)

Draft Aaron Aflalo in the 1st
Draft 2 people I've never heard of and can't pronounce in the 2nd

Other than that, I think everyone is under contract

Are we talking "hypothetical" to include trade? Or are we talking what we know for sure?

IMO, it's too early to tell who will be here next year from a hypothetical standpoint. For instance, if the Spurs draft Nick Fazekas and bring over Scola, I think both Bonner and Ely are gone....unless Horry decides to retire after all and Oberto opts out....see what I mean, hard to say.

    What we know for sure....

Ely, Bonner, and Vaughn are the only legit FAs

Oberto and Finley have Player Options

Horry has a partially guaranteed contract

The rest are on the hook for next year barring trades...

The Spurs should NOT pick up Bowen's option. They can resign him for less money.

Good answer's from everybody. I just found this site yesterday and it's sooo good to be talking to fellow Spure fans. Me and about a hand full of Spurs fans live in this sandbox called Phoenix. So we don't get any local info here. But we do try to get online or call back home in Texas or see what's on Espn. If there is any Spurs fans in Phoenix please let me know so we can party tomorrow night when we win.

    Finley and Oberto? Cīmon.

Oberto can play in big pressure games. I think he works hard and plays whith passion, been physical, setting great picks, great pass, he moves well whitout the ball... Why do you say "Oberto is out"?

Mike is a great great shooter. He played well in this postseason. Why Finley?

Hate to ruin everyone's pontificating ... but I could care less about next year. Next year means next to nothing right now.

Player options, draft, trades ... the point of all that is to win championships, no? And we're right there, again, about to win yet another championship.

So, no disrespect to you all, but I plan to enjoy watching us finish the sweep tomorrow night, and then bask in the championship glow. And enjoy the knowledge that all the other teams want what we have.

Let the other teams worry about next year and what's wrong with their crappy squads. And wake me up in October.

Okay, but if you folks can't finally relax and ENJOY the le, then what's the point? Be a Suns Fan, then, so you can spend *every* off-season worrying about your roster and what it'll take to finally win it.
