Ricky is a better scorer, but Brent is a much better locker room guy and he knows the system. Not a horrible trade, but not necessarily worth it either, IMO.
Trade works out financially....Davis has 1 year remaining so if it doesn't work out no harm done. He can be the long 3 Pop is wanting...possible replacement for Bruce...veteran hungry for a change to win. Alley-oop possibilites with Parker. Minnesota is completely rebuilding.
Do it RC!

For a great many reasons.
Good lord, No about 5 billion times.
No for one HUGE reason. hes a freaking cancer and a piece of .
Well, he may be a cancer, but that could be because he's been on ty teams his whole career.
But then again, I don't really want a self-absorbed who tried to throw the ball off the either teams rim just to get another rebound so he could have a triple double (which he didn't even get) on my team anyway.
When making trade proposals for the Spurs, you have to look at the type of individual player as much as you look at the player's talents.
-to-the-NO!
There are players I'd never accept on my team. They get flashbulbs popped at them because they put up stats, but they are stats that have no correspondence to winning games. They have no impact whatsoever... and include Zach Randolph, Ricky Davis, and yes, Jason Richardson.
Actually that is two huge reasons. No for one HUGE reason. hes a freaking cancer and a piece of .
But both are valid.
No but no .. Pretty Ricky is a CANCER! No Chance!
YES!
He's a balla,
he's got braids,
he's got tats,
he's athletic
Spurs' TV ratings would go WAY UP in the balla demographic!
No. I think Brent has about 1 good year left in that skinny body of his.
ricky on the spurs would be high on the comedy scale...and ricky would probably be high as well.
i take him if he keeps on dunkn on nashs face
Spurs won't trade Barry if for no reason other than they will honor the fact that he came to the Spurs as a free agent on a less than full market value deal. Trading him would send the wrong message to other future free agents that the Spurs couldn't be trusted.
NOOOOO!!! I wouldn't give up Melvin Ely for Ricky Davis. Davis could bring a whole team down.
While I think that's a consideration for Finley, I think it's past that point for Brent Barry. No one would be remiss if he were traded and, after all, they tried to trade him at last year's trade deadline.
If Barry isn't traded, it will be because of nothing good in return but more important, because they don't want to take on larger contracts extending beyond next year.
^^ my humble opinion
I dont think that is necessarily true. The Spurs will trade Barry to fill a need long term like Nocioni or Pietrus. This is a business & the Spurs & Barry know how valuable expiring contracts are. There is probably a %50/50 chance Barry gets traded. Now if you were talking Finley or Horry, then I would agree with you. We couldn't trade either one of those guys(they took less money to play here & had alot of other options) & not look bad in potential FA's eyes, that would be a slap in the face to Horry & Finley & throw up a red flag to potential players the team would want to bring in, which the Spurs would never do. Now if Horry or Finley WANTED to be traded, that is a different thing.
but he could change if he had the right guys around him. Stephen Jackson wasn't a cancer until he left the Spurs, with Pop and TD being the guys who kept him in check while he was here.
Why don't we just trade for Davis, Darius Miles, and sign up Pacman Jones to be the Coyote next year and make it rain in the ATT?
Dumbass people.
Well, there's the "one knucklehead per team" rule. San Antonio would be the one place where Davis would be expected to conform into filling a role and not be selfish. I say NO, only because I don't want to see the Spurs get younger and better.
lol...this gives me the opportunity to finally ask...what in the is "make it rain" and why is this so popular?
Hmm, Spurs have won 3 out of 4 les with 0 knuckleheads. Seems to be a good combination that's working fine. The best thing for the Mavs would be for the Spurs to get a guy like this and blow up team chemistry.
Nice try.
