According to the lead story at Yahoo.com's Sports section, Paul Pierce is on the verge of demanding a trade.

Which means, Boston now officially has a dilemma. They have tried to get a big name player and veteran to join Pierce, and everyone keeps refusing to go to Boston: Marion refused, KG refused, Kobe refused, O'Neal refused.

So what does Boston do? Or really, what does Ainge do? He can't trade Al Jefferson for nothing, and he can't get anyone to come to Boston.

If Pierce is really on the verge of demanding a trade, the only answer is to trade Pierce himself. They may get less of a star player than they would for Jefferson, but that just means the team officially BECOMEs Jefferson's. And that may be better for the C's in the long run.

Who could they get for Pierce? Could they pick up Earl Boykins, and maybe Camby from Denver? How about Zach Randolph from Portland. Jefferson can play PF or C, so either Randolph or Camby could work.

Trade Pierce, then dismantle the front office. They suck. The team is awful and it's no wonder no one wants to play there.

As for Pierce, I'm not sure what he's worth anymore. Camby + something is doable, but Denver would be crazy to add another guy who needs shots. Zach Randolph could work, and I would laugh.

Since Pierce is probably the reason most of those guys refuse to go to Boston, trading him might be a good idea. Only problem is, who would be stupid enough to want him?
