Also, please refrain from inducting whoever the Spurs draft into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
Thanks.

An exhortation for the men and women of Spurstalk:
The San Antonio Spurs kept us busy with their latest run through the playoffs. We take a 2 weeks breath and then...boom! The 2007 NBA draft is upon us.
THREE DRAFT PICKS FOR THE SPURS!!!![]()

A word to the wise...
The guys you want will likely NOT be the guys the Spurs get the rights for. So don't get all showered, shaved and in your tux or evening gown for the NBA draft expecting the next Tony Parker to fall in the Spurs' laps. That may not happen with today's Spurs. You might sit there watching for 2 hours and then they trade their 28th and 33rd picks and draft Markota's younger brother, or sump'n, you dig?
Keep your at ude like Timmy and just chill a bit.![]()
Also, please refrain from inducting whoever the Spurs draft into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

WHAT??? You mean to tell me the Spurs won't draft Durant?? !!
*starts taking off evening gown...*
Timmy's at ude works for me.
Spurs' first round draft picks have been very productive of late. They've yielded John Salmons, Leandro Barbosa, David Lee, Mardy Collins. I have no doubt this pick will be used wisely again.
What is this draft you speak of? I thought they abolished that in the 70s.
I don't think anyone expected THE Tony Parker of today, when we got the Tony Parker from France then.
So ya just never know what a guy might turn into.
Presti is just gonna steal R.C.'s draft pick at #31 anyway.
great post Solid.
It will be a typical Spurs draft, all hype, babble about "Well we tried to trade up for so and so" and piss away the great oppurtunities.
Thank the great RC Buford.
I'm taking the other route. I'm getting hyphy like a mug up in herre. At this point, everyone expects the Spurs to pick some random Euro or trade the pick, and I think that's exactly what they want people to think.... when have they ever followed expectations?
They're due. I believe they will put a package together for a higher pick and select a domestic talent. And we will cream ourselves.
Book it.
The Spurs will trade their first round pick away within a half hour of the selection...V-book it!
...and not for a higher pick as Spurminator suggests but for future draft considerations.![]()
I think it'll be more Ed's view than Spurm's.
BUT. I would die for Spurm's view to happen.
Since we are in for a repeat, expect something else.
We passed David Lee? WTF I didnt know that
Pick went to NY with Malik and his millions due.
also, blow me
Twas the night before Draft Day
And at Spurs fans' online house
not a creature was stirring
'cept for a crank addled mouse
The draft threads were tacked to the top with care
In hopes that Rudy Fernandez soon would be there
The members were nestled, all eyes on their threads
While visions of five trophies danced in their heads;
Then the Spurs selected Morris Almond and traded him to Cleveland for a future 1st round pick.
The End.
So let it be written...so let it be done.
