Horrible anachronisms, but ok.
Excellent movie, very underrated.
Just watched it Monday night. Great movie.
My boyfriend and I saw the movie in the theater and loved the movie. We realize it's entertainment and not meant to be historical, but it's a GREAT movie. We actually bought it a few weeks ago too.
I saw it when it first came out and watched it again on bootleg like two months ago and want to buy it soon. I really liked it.
good flick. liked it much more since i didn't listen to alot of the negative reviews it got when it came out.
we watched it Opening day.![]()
excellent. I have a bootleg and I ma waitign to buy the real DVD - hoepully 2 disc special edition.
too anti-jew for my tastes.
1408 was a kick ass movie.
I actually thought it was really good...much better then I thought it was going to be...good story line...as long as you don't go into it thinking it's a damned Do entary...you should like it...
I liked Apocalypto, although the portrayal of the Maya was completed distorted. I think the ending made for a great prelude to a sequel; colonization and the decline of the Mesoamerican civilization.
I completely agree. The early press releases tried to put a historical spin on it, which is certainly not the case.
Except the Maya civilization had already collapsed three hundred years earlier.
Yeah, that was the only thing dumb about the movie. Those Spanish Galleons got there a little earlier than they should have!![]()
Actually I'm wrong. The time period was consistent with the end of the Mayan civilization.
the jaguar eating that dudes face was in nasty azz
I'm glad someone enjoys my offbeat southern style humor.
I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. It's a great story, but I didn't like the movie that much.
psst..............that's why it's called a movie
Great movie. I felt like I was in the jungle with the natives watching the film.
Mel Gibson is a very good director. I mean, say what you will about the man, but his resume reads like this:
Man without a face - I thought it was a very good movie.
Braveheart - Need I say more
The Passion of the Christ - May not be the best movie he's made, but it was certainly good and entertaining. Plus it was just a genius marketable idea
Apocalypto - Great, entertaining movie IMO, historic accuracy be damned
I know. I just don't see why Gibson made such a stink about demanding the story be about the Maya because it was the most advanced civilization -- all he did was show that they built pyramids, had slaves and cut people up. The Aztecs did the same thing and were there when the Spanish actually arrived. Make Jaguar Paw Tlaxcalan and then you have the basis for a sequel and the mother of all revenge flicks.
