What?
Yeah, I always suspected Eva likes spanking and role play...
The Google translation:
Is it possible that you remain in San Antonio until the end of your career? There remain to me still four years of contract with Spurs. All will depend on the decisions which Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili will make when my contract arrives in the long term. If they continue, I would continue. If they decide to put a term at their career, then I would reflect. But if I leave, it is to go in a team which plays the le. Since I am here, my worse season finished with 57 victories. I badly see myself going in a team which loses 60 per annum matches…
Sounds to me like Parker doesn't want any part of the Spurs once Ginobili and Duncan are gone.
thats why you trade him now to atlanta for the 3 and 11 and one of their swings.![]()
A more colloquial translation would be:
"There are 4 years left on the contract with San Antonio. Everything will depend on what Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili will decide to do when my contract is up. If they stay, then I would continue. If they decide to retire, then I would have to think about it. However, if I leave, it's going to be to a le contender. Since being in SA, the worst season was a 57 win season. It's hard to see myself going to a team that's losing 60 games a year."
He's probably saying the same thing that he's always says .. that if Pop, Manu and Tim are gone when his contract is up (and there's no one decent here) that he will want to look around elsewhere because he likes winning.
Anyway, who can blame him for looking around. Manu visited Denver and Tim visited Orlando in free agency in the past. Everyone is curious I guess.
kori doesnt know what she's talking about
He's probably sick of being called boring and being held back by playing in San Antonio as well (see his ridiculous "Yankees" comment).
I bet a trio of Amare, Barbosa and Parker would be nice.
i surely hope he isnt seriously considering going elsewhere
I think that if the Spurs appear to be on a major downhill slide (no one of star quality to replace either TD or Manu, and mediocre play by the remainder of the team, not to mention the possible departures of Pop and RC), then he's gone. He wants to be a contender, and potentially have a shot at more s om. LA will certainly be attractive to him, especially if he has another ring or two. I think a largely winning season with a shot at a deep post-season is important, but he'd be ok with early playoff exits when he has 4 or 5 rings and his rap career comforting him at home.
Amare and Bobo will be gone by then![]()
I'd put it this way - there is a chance he stays, if the team continues now to build for that time.
But I wouldn't lay money on it today that he'll stay.
I have said all along that Tony is not untouchable and for the right price or right situation he is easily tradeable. His value on the trade floor is not going to get much higher, but I would not dare trade a major cog of this team after winning a championship. He needs the opportunity to go for the repeat, same as everyone else that played an important part of getting this le.
I think this core has one more le left in them, possibly two; What I would like to see is the Spurs allow Tim to decide when to blow this thing up.
I think he'd stay for sure, if the team is in a winning position. He loves San Antonio.
But if Pop leaves (and Tim and Manu are done) and he's surrounded by scrubs, then he'll look around.
Who knows, Mahinmi could be an All-Star by then and he could be in a great spot here.
Kiss his ass good bye while we can get something for him, IMO. You want to admit to skipping town after all this team has done for you, we don't need ya. I've long stood up for him, but this shows lack of class.
LOL there will be a lot of fans posting in here now that fall off the bandwagon as well when Tim and Manu retire...Heck...I even expect Pop to retire then...
It's almost impossible to keep doing what the Spurs have done for 10 years now and be in the playoff hunt every year and they still have a few years left in the run. Successful teams inevitably have to blow up and start over...
Parker will be signing his last big, long term contract then and he will probably go to another team that gives him a chance to keep winning instead of staying on and trying to rebuild from lottery pick rookies earned by losing 60 games a season in the process...I really can't say that I would blame him. It's a business...and before you say that he should be "loyal" to the Spurs just think back to the summer the Spurs tried to dump Parker for Jason Kidd...
Why didn't you kiss Duncan's ass goodbye and trade him when he visited Orlando and was "this close" to leaving?
Why didn't you kiss Manu's ass goodbye for visiting Denver in free agency?
Oh, I'd agree wholeheartedly with that. I don't think he'll stay to be the centerpiece around which they build though. I don't think he's loyal enough for that. Oh, that probably sounds more negative than I intend.
I'll add this then - if we get to that point and it looks sort of shaky, I wouldn't consider him a bad guy for leaving. I'd be disappointed, but I can understand that other inducements would weigh in on that decision. We don't generally blame guys who want to get onto a winning team for doing so, and I wouldn't blame Parker for wanting to leave if the Spurs look like horse when it's time to re-up.
Because he's not in free agency - he's tied to a contract with a team that brought him 3 rings and other things. Show commitment, become a franchise player. But no, if we don't surround him, he'll leave. Sounds like a Kobe syndrome.
You are a huge dumbass.
A reporter asked him a question about what he will do when his contract is up and he answered it by saying that if Tim/Manu etc are gone and it's not possible to win that he'll consider looking around.
He doesn't say he'll leave and doesn't show any disloyalty.
You are very dumb.
For that very reason I think we should keep an open mind when someone comes over looking to make a deal. You never know when the right deal will come along. IMO the only untradeables are Manu and Tim. The only reason I think Manu is untouchable is due to his age and we could never get equal compensation for him.
I'd rather, if the Spurs suck when Duncan and Manu hang it up, that they sign and trade Parker for some picks or young talent. What's the point in keeping a good PG around when you're in full rebuilding mode and by the time you're rebuilt he's over the hill.
Dude wants to win. Can't blame him. He's saying what Duncan always said whether he was a free agent or not.
Idiot. Remember, this is the same player the Spurs were ready to throw under the bus to get Jason Kidd. Loyalty is a two way street.
