Yes, we do remember Travis. A lot of good people died that day so that we might have the right to post on this forum. I never take them for granted and will always be grateful for their sacrifices. God Bless them all.

    Amen.

NBC Nightly News is 20 minutes in and there's been two stories about how badly things are going in Iraq, nothing about Pearl Harbor.

    The media suck.

My grandparents and a few aunts and uncles were guests of the Japanese at that time, in the prison camp at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. My grandfather weighed 160 pounds when they brought him in, and less than 90 when he got out.

If you've never been to Hawaii- you must go. The AZ Memorial tour should be required of every American. I lived at Hickam AFB, HI from 1990-1991. Every 7th of the month at 7am, the air raid siren goes off at PH to remember that day. At Hickam and PH, you can see all of the strafe lines of bullet holes still in the buildings that were around then. At the AZ Memorial, the white building (that is visible) straddles the ship in the water. It's pretty sobering to know how many people are still buried in that ship. The oil is still leaking from it; you can see it in the water. In Phoenix, (I live in AZ now) the Capitol grounds has the mast from the ship with all the flags flying between the Capitol and the Supreme Court building as another memorial. Pretty awesome stuff.

Yep, I've been to Hawaii three times (have a sister who was stationed at Tripler for three years), Pearl's been on the must see list every time. It's a very humbling experience.

Personally I think every newscast should begin with a minute of footage from Pearl, and should end with video of the Towers falling 9/11. Too many have forgotten what we've lost and what we're fighting for.
