Im not sure what Scola's or Splitter's buyouts are but is it possible that if Holt wanted to, he could just write a check to whomever and be done with it?

Is it that simple or do the NBA and FIBA have to get involved.

    Thank you, drive through.

No, the NBA team can only contribute $500K to any players' buyout amount.

Scola's buyout is said to be around 3M this year and 1M next season. If the Spurs wanted to bring him over the Spurs would pay 500k and he would have to cover the rest of either 2.5M (this season) or another 500k (next season).

Splitter does not have a buyout this season but is said to have a 1M buyout next season.

    Isn't it flipped on Splitter?

Doesn't he have a pretty big buyout this summer, and a smaller one, if one at all, next summer?

Nope. From what I've heard my original numbers are right.

When Darkwaters said no buyout this year, he means that a buyout isn't available ... not that the buyout is $0.

So if, for example, we'd like to take both next year, we could spend 500.000 $ for each one ? (total, 1.000.000 $)?
That could be good, so both players would have to pay just the last 500.000 $...

However, I think that, for Scola, the right time to come here is now...(hoping we trade some players for future picks or make a two for one trade, so a roster spot become available).

The rule used to be that teams could not help with a buyout in consecutive years- but that was changed. I do not think, though, that a team can help with 2 buyouts at $500,000 each in the same year. Bruno?
