Oh, ok, so this is a thread about what we HOPE happens, not what we think will happen.
In that case, Broncos over the Cowboys in the Super Bowl by a score of 62-0.
Anyone?
NFC Championship game: Dallas over New Orleans
(lack of defense dooms Saints)
AFC Championship game: New England over Cincy
SuperBowl Prediction:
Dallas upsets New England after Tom Brady suffers 7 sacks and throws 3 INT, one late in the game to Terance Newman after DWare and Anthony Spencer sandwich Brady......Cowboys welcome le number 6 to the family.

Why do people think the Cowboys are that good? Honestly, I'm not a Cowboys fan or hater, but there is nothing to is nothing about them that makes me think they are a lock to make the playoffs, let alone go to a Super Bowl.
Bears over 49ers
Pats over Ravens
Pats over Bears
Colts over Broncos
Saints over Eagles
Colts to repeat over Saints
i think they are capable of making it to the super bowl because the NFC is wide open. im going to say Seahawks make it because the Bears lost Thomas Jones, Tank Johnson, and Lance Briggs is going to hold out. plus they have the target on their back, so it will be hard to repeat. i dont think the Eagles are going to make it cause McNabb wont last the whole season. the Saints defense is weak and i dont think they will play with the emotion as they did last year. i think the Cowboys will make it to the NFC championship game but lose to Seattle. Dallas pass rush has improved with the signing of Spencer. their secondary has improved with Ken Hamlin. its not ridiculous to think Dallas will make it that far. their was a time last year when people thought they were the best team in the NFC. plus losing Parcells doesnt make them worse IMO.
as for the AFC i pick New England. just too strong, too experienced, i dont think anybody can beat them. i also think they will become a special team, one of the best teams of all time. they're obviously my pick to win it all.
I agree with this, and it ing kills me. I'm so damn sick of the Patriots.
The Bears will do fine with Cedric Benson for Thomas Jones and although they might lose Briggs, they gain Mike Brown who was out for the season last year. Also, remember that the Bears made their playoff run without Tommie Harris
NINERS in the NFC Championship game!???, there is nothing about them that makes me think they are a lock to make the playoffs, let alone go to the NFC Championship game.
I love that people are overrating the Patriots. They are a paper team who hasnt won the superbowl in over 2 years. They still have to go through the Colts a team that has owned them the past few years. I see the Pats falling as their cap situation will go to on them after this season. The road in the AFC goes through the defending champions.
I think the Bears will have another successful year, With Brown and Harris returning, and if they can get Briggs to play, they will still have a top defensive unit. I don't think Grossman will allow them to make it to the NFC championship game however. He'll have one more year to prove himself, but I don't think he will. The Bears should of brought someone in to push Grossman to his athletic and mental limits, someone like Carr maybe. Let him know that if he screws up, he can be replaced. Much like the Chargers did when they had Brees and drafted Rivers after a forgetfull season by Brees. Who would of known Brees would of responded the way he did. Maybe thats what Grossman needs.
I agree. Grossman is the albatross around the neck of an otherwise outstanding team. I don't see another serious Super Bowl run until they make a change at the position.
Also agree with spursreport about the Patriots. Adding a few head cases to the Brady Bunch will likely do more damage than harm. Overrated offseason for them. Sadly, the (hated) Broncos have had a much better offseason and look a bit tougher than the Patsies, as long as Cutler doesn't play like a Grossman.
they have one of the best running backs in the league. The offense was new and they came on at the end of last year. They have a above average defense.
Grossman sucks 35% of the time. He is great 10% of the time, and he is just manageable 55% of the time. I think that if he can limit his mistakes he can't make it to another Super Bowl. Winning it is another thing, but he can make it. Honestly, it's not fair to assume Romo has the stuff to take the Cowboys to the Super Bowl then say Rex can't. I don't see Romo is any better than Rex. They both have had good games, and both have had bad games.
It doesn't matter really though. The AFC is like the Western Conference in the NBA; whoever gets in from the NFC will just lose. There are probably 4-5 teams that would beat any team in the NFC in the Super Bowl (Pats,Colts,Ravens,Chargers, and mabye Broncos of September-November(which is when they look good))

Except Romo was in the top 5 in the NFL in completion percentage, td %, completion percentage and yards per attempt. Grossman, none. If the defense hadnt fallen apart at the end of the season and Romo was forced to score as many points as he had to, maybe he wouldnt have had to force so many throws. Grossman doesnt compare what so ever.
As far as the AFC>NFC, I dont think anyone would argue that, but the Boys beat down the Colts last year before said d fell apart, and have had been pretty good against the better AFC teams the last couple of years. The last couple of SB's havent been blowouts really either, the last SB blowout was Tampa Bay killing the raiders, so to think that any NFC team wouldnt have a chance doesnt seem very realistic
You made the point before I could. I could see how someone could make that assumpion about Romo vs Grossman. You'd have to of watched every Cowboy game last year to really see the talent this guy has and how he does the little things that make a big difference. Give him a good defense, with a year under his belt and he will be a top 6 QB in this league next year.
In all honesty, I see the Chargers and Pats in the AFC le game, and Ill take the Pats
I see the Panthers and the Saints in the NFC game, with the Saints winning
Pats beat the Saints, but is a close game.
i think the Boys could go places this year, but it will all depend on how the new coaching staff does, kinda like the Bolts
If the Pats avoid the Broncos (A team who OWNS Tom Brady) and the Colts (Mind you they are the defending champs who also has OWNED Brady the past 2 seasons) they have a very good chance of going to the super bowl. Their cap situation is going to blow up in their face next summer with all these paper moves that has made everybody bend over for them and take it up the ass. It isn't that I mind the Pats being the favorites but the fact that a team who hasn't won the le in over 2 years is being put on a pedestal and literally saying they will be so unbeatable and so dominate that no one stands a chance in of knocking them out. Are the Pats a good team? Of course! But they also havent won the superbowl in 2 years so they arent unbeatable either.
Pats over Colts 28-24
Cowboys over Bears 17-16
Cowboys over Pats 21-17
Norv Turner blows. Just when you thought he'd ridden that tidal wave of being the Cowboys offensive coordinator in the 90's as far as he could, he lands another job as a head coach. Unbelievable. And Wade Phillips... Amazing that a couple of teams with real promise have these failure retread coaches at the helm. I think both will hold their teams back.
Seems to be more excitement out of the Steelers, Raiders and Cardinals camps with younger guys getting their first opportunity, equal to the excitement the Saints fans felt with Payton. Worked out okay for them. I'd find a fiery young guy with a chip on his shoulder, before I'd take a retread with a sub .500 record to lead my club any day.
You sir, are a ing idiot. This post is all the proof anyone needs. No further comment is neccesary.
EDIT: But seeing that I have time to kill, I might as well show you why it's stupid.
First off, they won 3 SB's in 4 years. They have a genius coach in Bill Belichick who is known to be the best strategist in the NFL, as well as a coach who can control any player. They have Tom Brady, who is widely considered the most clutch (which is unquestionable) and consistent QB in the NFL. He finds a way to make plays, which is what football is all about. Making plays when plays are needed. They have added some incredible talent, as well as the most gifted WR in the NFL (whom some consider the most gifted WR in NFL history) in Randy Moss, who has had several dissappointing seasons, and is absolutely sick of losing, and sick of having a bad rap for previous personal issues that he had.
The fact is, this is still the same general nucleus of a dynasty that won 3 les in 4 years, but with FAR more talent than they have had in any of the years that they have been le contenders, so to say the bizzare that you are saying, is absolutely re ed, especially when comparing them to a team that has consistently been known to choke in the playoffs, ESPECIALLY against the Patriots.
Speaking of which, I'm not quite sure where you get the idea that the Colts absolutely have owned the Patriots the past several years. last season, the Colts won 2 matchups, both of which went down to the final minute. the season before, the Colts had a pretty sound victory, however, the Patriots had quite a few injuries to deal with.
then the previous two years before that, the Patriots beat the Colts in close regular season games, then completely dismantled them and Peyton Manning in the playoffs, on the way to winning a le and becoming a dynasty.
and prior to all that, I believe the Colts with Manning went something like 2-6 (winning none in NE) against the Patriots. so up until 2005, Manning and the Colts were a whopping 2-10 against the Patriots (0-2 in the playoffs). I think the only ownage in this rivalry belongs to the Patriots. its like if I were to say the Mavs completely own the Spurs, because they beat them once in the playoffs, and had some good recent regular season sucess against them.
gimmie a break...

oh, and my predictions...
AFC: Patriots over Ravens
NFC: Eagles over Seahawks
SB: Patriots over Eagles (*sigh*)
Damn I hate the Patriots... but they are just too in' good for my Eagles to beat them.
They haven't won a super bowl in 2 years and I said Manning has OWNED the Pats the past 2 years (I didn't say several I said few which pretty much means 2 meaning he has played very well against them). Broncos have only lost to Tom Brady ONCE (4-1 including the playoffs) and their starting quarterback (Plummer) at the time was out with an injury and they barley lost that game. Pats have not won a super bowl in over 2 years and they aren't unbeatable like people make them out to be. The road to the superbowl in the AFC goes through Indy. Manning isn't the same player he was during the Pats dynasty and the Pats aren't the team they used to be as well. Paper moves aren't going to make me declare them a lock to win it all. Are they a good/elite team? yeah they will be right in the thick of things. Are they so unbeatable that they won't have any trouble with anybody and should just be given the trophy? NOT EVEN CLOSE! You get y at me for stirring up with you in threads yet you do the same exact thing. BTW the Colts beat the Pats and went onto win the superbowl so they have a right to talk some to the Pats. The Mavs beat the Spurs and CHOKED IN THE FINALS followed by getting their asses kicked in the first round which they haven't recovered from yet. Then again you are the same dumbass who called (and still calls) Tony Parker A FAKE ALL-STAR, unclutch and soft and said how much better Devin Harris is than him as he stepped his game up to an even higher level (something your soft star Irk who can't play defense worth a couldn't do) in the finals winning the MVP.![]()
Go break some windows or slash some tires with your Oakland Raider pals.

Stretch, I read the first couple of sentences, and I refuse to read further.
The Patriots advanced last year due to facing a more talented, yet less experienced Chargers team. The game was handed to them by "young team mistakes". A head butt, a terrible 4th and long shot, a fumbled interception etc. Sorry bro, the Patriots were outmatched and will deal with a Charger team that has matured since they last faced them. Any Patriots fan who believes they won because of "coaching skills" "more talent" is living in a dream world. The Patriots simply won because a certain Charger player lost their composure, and certain Charger player fumbled a game winning interception.
With that said................Chargers. By a landslide.
