either wait and get a PS3 later , or get a Wii now.
And he said that would never happen to him and after having the console for 5 months, it stopped working on him. He already heard about the reports on the console issues before he purchased one and it just had to happen to him.
I was thinking about getting a 360 over the PS3 but ever since that happened to my cousin I was leaning more to the ps3.
So my question is....are those issues present on the PS3? Do the PS3 stop working after awhile? Oh and which system should I get anyway at the moment of time or should I just wait?

I'm not trying to sway your decision-making, but if it was, your cousin should know MS extended the warranty on that problem to three years.
Since your a suns fan I say get a Atari or Regular Nintendo because the 360 or PS3 might be too complicated for you hehehe, no just kidding. I think you should still get a 360, it has a better game library.
Yeah and they were flashing like crazy too! My problem with that is.. is it going to breakdown again if you do get it fix? Because that mean you would have to keep getting it fixed and I wouldn't want to go through all that not that it's nothing to go through but I don't want to keep spending money if it keeps breaking.
I'm still not sure which system I should get because after seeing you guys comments, my decision has been on the PS3 side but I guess I'll wait and see at the moment.
PS3 has virtually no games, and that's really all you need to know...
There are less than a handfull of exclusive, good games on the PS3...

It's too soon for people to know for sure, but I think I remember reading MS saying they'd identified the problems causing that and were fixing those with the extended warranty.
Plus, refunding people who paid out-of-pocket to ship and repair for the same problem is a great move by MS.
I'd go with a 360 just because of the extensive game library already present with that system. Also, just about all the new les coming out in the near future are going to be cross-platform anyways (360 & PS3).

As you can see there are more games I want on the 360 than the ps3 but the main games that I want are on both systems.
The only problem I heard and saw about the 360 is the technical problems but none for the PS3.
SO should I get a $400 360 or a $500 ps3?
from what i have heard, it's a temporary fix for most, but does work.
So you're only getting games that are coming out in the future, no Forza 2, Gears Of War, Oblivion?
Supposedly Microsoft is going to announce a pricecut tommorow at E3. You should wait a bit to see if it's true. Also those technical problems are with the GPU overheating. THe newer 360s have a big heatsink so you really don't have to worry about that anymore plus the 3 year warranty will cover you.
Anyway what the 360 is lacking a bit is Japanese support but if you don't care about that, get the 360. (wait after E3 though which starts tomorrow)
No I'm purchasing those games as well.........that's if I get a 360. I'm just waiting and trying to pick carefully which system I want for the time being.

I was going to get a PS3 but the 360 price might come down tomorrow. Decisions decisions.
Dammit, now I want a 360 now. It's like back and forth with these 2 systems but something tells me just wait a little bit longer.
I guess I'll see about the E3 thing tomorrow.....hope it's true because that will seal my decision.

Yeah I'm with you on that. Plus the 360 have both Madden, Halo, and GTA on it, the main reason why I want to purchase one.

Well it's obviously important to consider, the PS3 also has Resistance and some other good games.
Also the 360 has some really good older games you can pick up on the cheap since they aren't new releases, PGR3, Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo, Dead Rising, Saints Row, etc.
I think right now it just comes down to the fact that the Xbox 360 has considerably more games.
Gamespot lists 22 PS3 games an 115 360 games, the 360 almost has more exclusives games than the PS3 has total games.
Do you like to play online? If picking the one with the best online, that's a no-brainer.
