Thomas has said they will not trade Lee or Balkman.
I'm sure most of you know that he's one of the best players on the Knicks, even if Isaiah doesn't. This article:
http://dberri.wordpress.com/2007/07/...ing-david-lee/
makes the excellent point that acquiring Randolph, in conjunction with Curry, means that Lee will probably play less. Not only do Randolph and Curry have the same game (low post scoring), but now Lee, who would have been a great guy to put alongside Curry, will be marginalised. Yet another Isaiah Thomas screw up...
Any chance we can prise Lee away for Beno and Scola and a packet of texas turkey Jerky? Maybe Isaiah won't know that Scola is also a low post scorer...
Poor David Lee. He'll be itching to get out of there by half way through the season, either that or Randolph will be on the move again (unlikely).
PS If this should be NBA forum, apologies
Thomas has said they will not trade Lee or Balkman.
Portland tried to land him rather than Frye so I don't see this happening.
Once Thomas is fired in NY maybe Pop and Co. could hire him to run our domestic scouting operation.
Right, he does find good talent here in the States...Lee, Robinson, Balkman, Butler, Frye....these guys are solid contributors in the NBA. He has had good drafts, but he just has made some bad trades.
I love this guy...he's amazing. He's everything you loved out of Malik plus height and basketball I.Q.. He's a of a player.
No there's no chance. Thomas has said numerous times he's not trading David. Most recently during the Artest trade talks. David loves NYC. He's single and is enjoying it tremendously. Not sure that most of you know it but David's family is extremely wealthy. He gets his trust fund at 25 so he doesn't ever have to work again or could work in the family business. Only city I've heard him state that he would rather be in is LA. Don't see them trading him to SA anytime soon.
I think Lee is a heck of a player. As bad as the Knicks are, he has been a silver lining of sorts. I think he was a second round pick too, right? If I'm not mistaken, then second rounders have more options when it comes to opting out of their contracts and pursuing "higher" employment.
David Lee is one guy every team would want. The ultimate team hussle guy. would give you 14 and 11 every night.
Nope. He was landed using a late first rounder, ours IIRC.
We could have drafted Lee - 30th pick by Knicks - but passed for Mahimi.

But no one has commented on why Isaiah would add a ball and minute hogging Randolph when he is wedded to Lee!?
Just another Isaiah screwup, or am I missing something???
Ex - yup, pretty sure it was the pick that went in the Malik deal.
David Lee is one of the few things Isiah has done right.
Isiah is gonna hold on to him for dear life.
So why trade for a guy who plays his position and will take minutes off him?????
Jeeez, I'm not even trying to make a subtle point here, yet no-one has worked it out!?
They wanted rid of Steve Francis and Channing Frye that bad.
