I remember when we signed Melzer last season people were moderately excited about him. Now he's back playing on our summer league team, and I think he's playing better than both White and Williams. Any word on if he's getting a camp invite? His defense has been solid and he's shown some flashes on the offensive end as well. I wouldn't be heartbroken if he got the 15th spot. Why isn't anyone even remotely talking about his performance?
He's good on the summer league level but he's 28 and doesn't seem to quite be an NBA athlete. He can fit close to the Derrick McKey role that Pop has talked about but last year in preseason he didn't look to have the quickness to guard small forwards.
He's a decent prospect that I'd be happy to see on the Toros but outside of an emergency, I don't see him ever playing meaningful minutes for the Spurs.
