I just happen to be in Salt Lake and will be going to the Spurs game tomorrow night.

I plan to post some pics and a report on the players asap after the game. I was hoping to see Butler, but with the happenings today...oh well.

I have a feeling the Spurs have something in the works that will take some of this bad trade taste out of our mouths...at least I hope.

Anyway, I'll post pics and info tomorrow night on the game.

Ps: While I'm here I'll piss on Energy Solutions Arena and maybe I'll feel better

Ok, here are some pics from the game. First, let me give you my amateuristic take on what I saw out on the floor.

The best players on the floor for the Spurs tonight were Sanikdze and C.J Watson. Melzer and Williams played decent. From what I saw, Watson looked like he could be a decent PG in the league, especially if he had a good mentor to guide him. Watson had a good stroke to his shot, good quickness, and was a very active player on both sides of the court...I really was impressed by his game.

Sanikidze was fun to watch, he hustled, has a decent stroke from outside and seems to have a good basketball I.Q. He seem to be a decent rebounder if the ball is in his area, but his lack of muscle really keep him from getting rebounds that are outside his body. He has a really good quickness to his game and seems to be very compe ive. Oh yeah, he knocks down free throws as well. All in all, I could see this guy making it in the league in the not so distant future, but he is really lacking in muscle and can easily get pushed around right now. 6'9" 200lb...I dout it, more like 170lbs.

Williams: hmm...showed some good and some bad. He has flashes, but he also seems lazy at times and lost. Not very good quickness (especially lateral) but at times seems able to get to the rim in spite of his lack of quickness. He didn't have a very good game shooting, but he did stay agressive. I was suprised at how much the Spurs had him bring the ball up court by himself. His ball handling skills are questionable. Overall, the jury is still out on Williams I didn't see anything either way to make me sure he could or couldn't make it in the league.

Melzer: Had a decent game, works hard, isn't afraid of some contact, and hustles alot, but I just dont see this guy making it in the NBA based on his game tonight.

Without Butler, the Spurs had no inside game whatsoever tonight, especially in the first half in which they really struggled. the second half was much better, as Watson came out and made some really nice plays.

I saw Mike Budenholzer and had a very brief chat with him. I asked him if James Whites ankle tweak was the reason he wasn't playing to which he responded "yes", and I asked him if the 3 million dollar per year offer to Udoka was true and he just smiled and didn't comment...in other words yes Was a really nice guy to talk to in the brief time I talked with him.

I saw James White after the game and he told me that he would be good to go in tomorrows game.

Anyway, here are some pics. I have many more, but my upload speed here really sucks, so I'm only posting some of them.

Sorry about the size of the images, I didn't have my software to resize the images with me so I couldn't.

**Edit: Ok, my brother in-law let me use his laptop with Adobe CS2 and they are resized.

    Nice writeup and nice pictures.

It sounds like the Spurs were running Williams at point. If that was the case, he could help Beno out the door as long as he proves to be halfway decent in an emergency role. I know what you mean about him being slow/lazy ... he does have a deliberate pace to his game.

Hopefully the Spurs can put Sanikidze on a Mahinmi style workout regimen and get him ready to be brought over in the next couple years.
