Spurs passed on Scola to Cleveland. Why is this hard to understand for people?
On the Anderson Varejao front, one league executive told me yesterday: “This is going to be one to watch.” He meant for entertainment value, in a sick, detatched way. Andy’s agent, Dan Fegan, is looking for the big score. I’m talking about something like $9-$10 million a year. I believe the Cavs are offering something much closer to $6 million a year. You don’t have to be a math major to know that is a wide gap. The Cavs will not pay it and, because Varejao is restricted and no teams who want Varejao have cap space left, they will not have to pay it. They do not have to do a sign-and-trade for it if they don’t feel like it, either. Here’s the thing, though, Fegan does not like to compromise. He may rather have Andy play out a one-year qualifying offer and become unrestricted next summer.
cavs wanted to pass on scola for this crap
NICE MOVE THERE FERRY

no cavs did not want butler
spurs wanted butler and scola gone on the same trade
ferry is a damm idiot
that james fellow is going to bolt
ferry can not get get that james boy a point guard
LOL @ Ferry passing Scola
all these ex-Spurs employees being exposed
He didn't.
and butler, Scola was offered though
10 mil a year for him. His defense on Duncan in the finals was too flop and pray the ref blew the whistle.
The Cavs are trying to find a way to keep one of Gooden or Varejao but not both. So if they trade Gooden, like they have been trying to do, then they will likely re-sign Varejao. If they don't trade Gooden, they might let Varejao walk.
Why would you pay Varejao 10 million a year?
Someone is going to snatch up Mali....er that stud Varejo soon.
I didn't realize the market for floppers was so hot. $10M for that flopping freak, GMAFB.
Typical Dan Fegan. Superagent wannabe.
Varejao doesn't deserve more than 4M a year.
If im ferry I meet with Varejo and his agent together in the same room. I then replay the last 2 minutes of game 4 in the finals ( , I show every game of the finals) and then I begin my talks about contracts!!
I believe Ferry was a part of the Spurs front office when Fegan negotiated Stephen Jackson out of San Antonio. Looks like he found a sucker in Varejao.
9-10 million a year for a 6th man flopper extraordinaire? Are you ing kidding me?
They really should extend the cap space by about 2-3 mil a year.
Fegan needs to focus on his other clients on the market (namely Yi Jinlian and Matt Barnes) rather than trying to get this fool such a ridiculous sum.
Next summer's gonna suck for Dan Fegan, trying to find clients. He's failed to make any benchmarks at all this summer.
Fegan wants to be Scott Boras so bad its effecting his judgement even worse than usual.
Varejão 10 MIll a year?
I what sport?![]()
Agreed, Why the would you pay Varejao 10 million a year!!!!! Any team that would do that is just plain stupid!!! Varejao is a terrible player...all he does is fall down all the time. FLOP!!!!!!!
